The Q&C Hotel and Bar in New Orleans earns rave reviews for its cleanliness and stylish atmosphere, offering guests a comfortable and culturally rich stay. Nestled in a prime location, the hotel is a hit among travelers looking to explore the French Quarter and other city attractions. While the rooms are celebrated for their tidiness and comfort, some guests have pointed out issues with noise and maintenance.
Opinions on value are mixed; guests appreciate the reasonable room rates but are critical of the pricey parking and breakfast service. Despite occasional slow service, the hotel's staff is generally recognized for their friendliness and helpfulness.

Detailed Reviews
Overall, hotel was great. Beds were comfortable and the room had character but was also modern and well decorated. We were on a high floor and overall was quiet except the one morning at 6am when they collected the garbage outside, but it wasn't a big deal. Our room had a fridge which was helpful as we bought some yogurts for breakfast. I understand all the hotels are switching to the large shampoos/conditioner and body wash in the showers but really not a fan of the body wash. It was not very sudsy and felt kept pumping and getting nowhere. I would really have preferred regular bar soap. Location was also great just a few blocks from Canal Street and having the bar area in the lobby was convenient. Only reason deducted one star, was that our room was not ready at 4:15pm for the 4pm check-in and didn't have any ETA of when it would be. The lady at the desk didn't seem to care at all until we told her we would stand there until it was ready. She made a few phone calls and viola ready 10 minutes later. We had originally arrived at the hotel at 10am and they had stored our bags so the fact that the room wasn't ready by the committed 4pm check-in wasn't acceptable.

Dear nicolenQ6243AX, Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your experience while staying with us. Your experience of room and restaurant issues and reward status is below our standard. Providing the highest level of hospitality is our number one priority, and IÂ sincerely apologize for failing to meet your expectations. I have shared your feedback with the Front Desk Manager and maintenance leadership team to ensure the necessary guidelines are in place and reviewed to prevent room-to-small and staff issues from occurring in the future. I hope you stay with us again when your travels bring you back to the area. Sincerely, Christopher Dwyer General Manager Q and C Hotel and Bar

I extended my work trip to New Orleans by one day which became two days because my flight was delayed overnight. Kierra who worked there really exceeded my expectations with customer service.
After seeing me in the lobby for a few hours after checking out she approached me asking if everything is alright. After explaining my flight situation and knowing room rates already went up she went to speak with the manager and ended up being able to match my previous room rate to keep costs low. She also gave me included a complementary dinner and breakfast to make sure the ending of my first trip to New Orleans turned around.
The empathy showed really took me away and I will definitely stay here my next time around in NOLA

A lot to digest? Read an AI-generated summary of recent traveller reviews.
This review is to give a shout out to the amazing front desk staff who will do anything to make thier guests to feel appreciated and comfortable. I especially want to acknowlege Kierra, Zaliana and Kieryana. This hotel is so smart to give these women the power and freedom to provide customer service that goes above and beyond check in- check out.
As for the hotel, it is boutique, original, small rooms but this team makes it as comfortable as possible. Also, a quick shout out to the maintenance staff for replacing a blocked shower head to be sure everything in the room was working.
The only reason this is not a 5 star review is that (at no fault of the property) the hotel rooms are small and not new and modern, although recently renovated, which is more my personal taste. They are doing the best possible with what they have to work with! And one more thing... the gift of a praline upon check in.... perfect New Orleans touch!

First the good...
The location was excellent. We wanted to stay in a quieter area than the bustling French Quarter, but close enough to walk everywhere. This location was perfect. Within 15 minutes, we were able to visit the French Quarter or to the waterfront or to the museums in the Central Business District.
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful.
But that's all...now the bad.
The breakfast staff was wonderful but inept. Beyond inept. Not only did it take forever (almost 30 minutes) for our food to come (with only a couple of people in the cafe), both days our breakfasts were wrong. And when mine finally came, not only was it wrong (chocolate chip pancakes instead of plain and I'm diabetic), but it was burned. We specifically wanted to stay at a hotel that had breakfast available since we were only in town a few days and wanted to maximize our time. By our last day, while they were offering us comp meals, we declined and found other delightful restaurants nearby that had food that was cooked precisely to order and served expediently. Avoid the breakfast here until they properly train their staff. Others have commented on this, so I am confirming that this was not a one-time issue.
The walls in the rooms were paper-thin. We literally heard everything from our neighbor next door. Everything, including them shifting in bed, so I'm sure they could hear us, too.
Noise isn't the only thing shared between rooms. We could smell pot permeating through the vents.
Our last morning, the shower handle wouldn't turn the water off and we were unable to control the temperature. My husband had to take a very quick, very hot shower. With only a partial glass door, the hot water was spewing onto the floor creating a slipping hazard and the humidity filled the room, and of course, there's no bathroom fan and you cannot open the windows.
Our stress and anger were through the roof and we couldn't get out of the hotel fast enough. Not the way to end a wonderful vacation to a great city.
I reached out to the manager who was extremely kind and helpful throughout our stay (but was not there on our final day), but haven't heard back from her. While I am hoping she wasn't directly affected by the New Year's Day tragedy, a return email would be nice.

Great location if seeing the city.. the bar staff was absolutely incredible. I have a few though with the cockroach I found and killed in my room. I went down and explained this to the front desk staff and she explained that she would send housekeeping management up to my room and check it out. I left the roach in the trash bin in the room. There was no update on what was actually done..if maintenance had spray? Nothing..then as we were there 2 nights they cleaned the room and guess what? Still left the cockroach in the trash in the room. So what was really done if anything at all. I will return to New Orleans as we do every year but it will never be with queen and crescent again.. that really sucked how they handled that..best of luck to anyone staying here.

This was one of the worst Marriott hotel experiences I can recall having.
From the minute I checked in I knew it was going to be a rough stay.
The desk clerk never even addressed me by name, nevermind acknowledged my status, asked me what I'd like my bonus to be. He didn't tell me anything about the hotel, amenities, or the area, or ask if I had any questions.
When I got to my room, I realized not only wasn't I upgraded, but I had the smallest room floor print they possibly book in the entire hotel.
The bed was uncomfortable, the room was dirty (the carpets weren't vacuumed well, the desk and nightstand had dust on them). Since I wouldn't be spending much time at the hotel I didn't even bother complaining.
I wasn't going to even leave a review until Sunday morning when I was woken up by housekeeping going around to every door on the floor banging and yelling housekeeping at 10:30 am. I put in for a late check out of noon so I know that management never even bothered to look at my booking.
My question for Marriott or other Marriott Ambassador level members is does Marriott notate status level in their bookings on the backend? Is there anything that alerts staff to a booking note or anything? Any advice on how to make requests or anything?

This modern boutique hotel is part of the Marriott chain of hotels. The decor is modern with a rustic twist, but a little tired in the communal areas. The rooms look like they need some maintenance (loud fridges and air conditioning units need fixing), but the bathroom/shower is stunning with fluffy white towels and Molton Brown products. The hotel is actually in two buildings (all the skyline rooms are in the main building, while the gym and the superior kings are in the building across the road). What let's this hotel down though is the service and attitude of the staff. On arrival we were practically ignored by the receptionist. Had it not been for Sean the concierge we would have waited around for 30 minutes to check in. Of the three rooms booked for the 6 people in our party the rooms were not cleaned on three separate occasions, and when they were cleaned, towels etc. were not replenished, (on the last night I was finally left a shower cap even though you can't reach the shower to adjust the flow and trajectory - so take your own!). The morning staff in the open fronted cafe next to the bar were extremely rude, so if you have food allergies and want something left off your order, don't ask for alternatives as you'll just be laughed at. Overall the staff were unhelpful and rude, apart from Sean, the concierge, Irash, the reception supervisor, and the door men. I wouldn't stay here again, nor recommend this hotel, despite its proximity to the French Quarter.

Thank you for your feedback regarding your visit TrishM. I apologize on behalf of the entire staff of the Q&C Hotel that your experience was less than anything but exceptional. We strive to provide superior service with a friendly smile and it is evident we have failed. I was hoping to look into the issues you've brought forth in more detail but I am unable to narrow down your dates of stay or reservations based off of your handle. If you would like to provide further information please reach out to the hotel so we may investigate and hold our team member's accountable. I would also like to recognize those team members that you have mentioned as being helpful but we do not have a concierge or anyone with the names of Sean or Irash. Thank you for your time and for providing us with feedback for which we may improve upon.

Let me start by telling you what I loved about the Q&C (which was a lot):
The people- above all else this is probably the best hotel staff I have encountered in a long while. Everyone was so nice and hospitable. From the moment we arrived and Z (Zalinia?) checked us in we were treated well. Each morning we enjoyed a delicious breakfast thoughtfully prepared by Richard and served by either John or Sonya. We felt like we were eating with family every morning. Drinks with Tammy in the evening were delicious.
Location- I visit New Orleans every year in the late summer and I think this might be my favorite location yet. Close to everything. An easy walk to the Quarter or to the Saint Charles streetcar.
Decor- Loved the vibe of the entire place. Our room was lovely and I really like the hardwood floors. Also appreciated cold water and fresh fruit near the elevator. And even a little treat for me to take home to my dog!
Room- comfortable bed and clean room. A little small but fine for just the two of us.
Okay, so here is what I didn’t love:
The bathroom was poorly designed and it really makes me wonder if the person who designed it has ever taken a shower. The shower faucet was similar to a rain shower (which I hate) and the pressure wasn’t very strong, nor did the water get very hot. I know it is an older building, so maybe plumbing options are limited, but I really did not enjoy the shower experience.
The shower amenities were Molton Brown (which I love) but are awkwardly placed in the shower and difficult to pump. And the pump only puts out a little at a time. This makes washing and conditioning your hair a challenge if you have thick hair.
Lastly, I had no cold water in my room. Both faucets in the sink were warm.
Aside from those, I truly did love my stay. It would be a hard decision to not stay here again despite the poor bathroom experience.

Dear Kisha M, Thank you for sharing your experience at the Q&C Hotel | Bar New Orleans. We are delighted that you had a positive stay from check-in to our restaurant services. Your kind words about the decoration and the dog treats by the elevator are truly appreciated. I apologize for the inconvenience you experienced with the bathroom and shower faucet. We understand the importance of a well-designed and fully functional bathroom, and it is disappointing to hear that we fell short of your expectations in this regard. Your comments about the shower faucet's low pressure and the hot water issue are duly noted, and we will address these concerns with our maintenance team to ensure that such issues are rectified. We also apologize for any inconvenience caused by the Molton Brown amenities. Your feedback about the difficulty in pumping the amenities is valuable, and we will take this into consideration for future improvements. We genuinely appreciate your feedback as it helps us to identify areas for enhancement. We hope for the opportunity to welcome you back and provide you with a much-improved experience. Sincerely, Christopher Dwyer General Manager Q and C Hotel and Bar

The by far nicest place I ever stayed at in New Orleans, having known the city for 30+ years. Perfect location - everything in short walking distance though not in the middle of the nighlife on Bourbon Street. Rooms: just take a look at the pictures - that is what you get - we loved it; the combination of architecture with the lovely appointment: gorgeous. Service was very friendly, always and anywhere. Breakast was freshly cooked and tasted fabulous. Parking: I parked myself on one of the public lots just a few feet down the alley - paid roughly $40 for 7pm to 1pm next day which is a bit on the expensive side and could pay online (scan QR, pay with card). I saw an associate from the parking spot company the day we checked out so I assume they also do vallet. Certainly the hotel to go back to when in New Orleans again.

Another stay at the W&C, another great experience! Far enough away from the quarter to be quieter, close enough to walk to it. Great bar, with standout service and drinks from Tammy and Paul.
I always enjoy my stays here when I visit either for work or personal reasons. Rooms are clean, quiet, and comfortable at a reasonable price. Much nicer than most of the more expensive spots nearer or in the quarter. Overnight valet is usually around $40, which is a good price for the area.

Kingfisher is up the street - amazing breakfast.
One block over on Saint Charles are about 3-4 coffee and muffin type places for a quick breakfast.
The Ruby Slipper on Magazine and Common is a MUST breakfast place but be prepared to stand in line.
That is a question for Trip Advisor through email or phone call would be my answer.
Rooms are small but they are large in comparison to NYC so I wasn’t bothered by that.
We stayed 4 nights and did enjoy the trip even though It was a bumpy start due to housekeeping. You can also review on google.....
Not really. You have to be super careful exiting the hotel because you are literally a few feet from the street. The lobby& bar are small & congested most of the time & its pretty noisy.
This hotel is in walking distance from the Convention Center. The convention center is away from everything in downtown New Orleans. This hotel is not in the French Quarter either but withing walking distance.
Although the rooms tend to be small, there is drawer space and an area to hang clothes. We were able to slide our luggage under the bed when not needed. We really enjoyed the location and vibe of this hotel. Enjoy!
