I saved this hotel for my last night in New Orleans because I wanted to experience a "typical" French Quarter hotel with a courtyard. I was a bit let down when I walked in and saw the small, drab lobby. But the staff were very welcoming, there was a jar of madeleine cookies for guests, and the courtyard just beyond...

This was a great place to stay. Location was walking distance to everything we wanted to do in New Orleans. Great Breakfast. Friendly knowledgeable staff at the front desk. Stayed several places while visiting New Orleans in the past and this has became my first choice if we visit there again.

Staff was fantastic and very friendly! A block from Bourbon street, and able to walk to Jackson Square, Harrah's casino and a ton of shopping boutiques. Only negative was we had to wait for room a little past check in time. There were 2 weddings the same weekend so that could've been the hold up.

Staff went out of there way to make stay enjoyable. Hotel was very quite and I did not hear the street noise. Room was a pleasant surprise. Room was laid out nicely and I would recommend the hotel to friends.

We had a great stay here! Breakfast awesome! Room was fabulous, comfortable clean, not noisy even though on street side, lovely courtyard which was so secluded , bliss!! SO we decided to stay another night and were moved into a room at the back of the hotel.....BAD move, it was so noisy with guests and staff walking past our room,...

The Hotel Mazarin was a nice, relaxing hotel with a lovely courtyard and good breakfast included in the room price. Easy walking distance to anything in the French Quarter. Our room was quite small, no place to read, etc. but there was a patio with tables and chairs just outside the room. Clean, charming, good value.

Could not be more central in fact right on the corner of bourbon street. A quiet internal courtyard is surrounded by three or four floors of rooms. Most face inwards so can feel a little dark but generally one is not in NOLA to spend time in your room. 4 to 5 star quality in the rooms, reasonably good service...

I had read on Tripadvisor to not get a balcony room due to noise but since this was my first trip I ignored it and thought maybe these people were being picky. They were not. Not sure if an interior room would have been quieter but it was crazy loud till about 4am. and still some stupid person would yell...

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
