A sensational Hotel right in the heart of Bourbon Street in the French Quarter, you can walk everywhere. Beautifully decorated and classy, fantastic service from all staff. Surprisingly quiet considering its location. Would definitely recommend it, but not cheap!

I stayed for 4 nights and it was an awesome experience. This historic hotel is right on Bourbon Street and is first class all the way. The people and service were great, and the breakfast at Desire in the hotel was incredible. Cafe Beignet was right across the street with live jazz in the mornings. The rooms were immaculate and...

We visited following a meal nearby. Wow, what a place, a lovely, classy, cosy bar with excellent helpful friendly staff. To top it off there was a superb jazz singer and band. Loved it and would recommend it.

Whether you want a wild time on Bourbon Street, or a more secluded quiet spot to unwind, the Royal Sonesta delivers on both. Located right smack in the middle of the action, steps away from everything; yet in a stately nicely updated property; aside from my all time favorite property in New Orleans (the Roosevelt), you just cant go wrong...

You can not beat this location if you want to be in the heart of the action!! Also its one of the nicest, cleanest hotels to stay at in the French Quarter! Also, provides balconies overlooking Bourbon Street and a private pool area to get away for a quiet swim.

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
