This hotel is in the heart of the French Quarter. My mother and I are from Australia and we had no idea what to do and see in NOLA. Very happy we picked this hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful with all enquires. We had a room overlooking the pool but no balcony. Next time I would request overlooking...

Love, love this hotel! It is beautiful and so convenient to the downtown area. The beds and bed linens were so comfortable. The wifi was fast and easy to access. The only downside is that there was no coffee maker in the room. The room also did not have a small refrigerator or microwave. The room and balcony was wonderful....

Stayed here for 2 nights during the first week of May/2015. Valet parking guy was fantastic. Check in was smooth and quick. VERY small room with an odd smell. Would be great for a single person, but with 2 of us, it was tight. Wifi was good - fast with no issues. Great location right on Bourbon St and within...

We booked into the Royal Sonesta with the understanding that we would have a room overlooking the garden. Unfortunately we were given a room on Bourbon Street and were up till after 12:00 every night with the noise. The rooms are being renovated and they need it.

In spite of the Royal Sonesta being in the midst of a major make-over, the stay was very comfortable. I was especially impressed by the never-ending friendliness and helpfulness of the entire staff, regardless of position and status. We were put in an inside room to spare us the endless (though often enjoyable one had to be in the mood)...

I would firstly like to commend the staff in the lobby, nothing was too much trouble for them, and they were really helpful. The rooms were nice, but there was nowhere a guest could have a quite drink at night, and with many corporate parties staying at the hotel, parts of the hotel, were only for their use. I picked...

4-night stay during JazzFest2015. Hotel is perfect for Bourbon Street access. If you're a light sleeper, definitely ask for a room facing the inside courtyard or pool. Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
