This is a lovely hotel just around the corner from where all the action starts in the French Quarter, if you so desire it: The Bourbon Street scene! However the hotel is a quiet respite from all the goings on. It is clean, well maintained, and had a quiet, French charm. We stayed here for a week in January 2012,...

This is a great place to stay in New Orleans. The hotel is situated one block off of Bourbon. The staff are very helpful and everyone is friendly. They have a wonderful little cafe that is great for breakfast. The praline bacon is yummy.. ps.. The prices are great too!

We stayed one night at the Prince Conti (pronounced with a long I, we were told by the locals) on our way out on a cruise. The hotel has the historical and architectural charm. It is a very old building. The rooms are very small with older carpet and older televisions (small and not the flat screen type). The beds...

We returned yesterday from a trip to New Orleans and were very pleased with the Prince Conti hotel. The location can't be beat - less than a block from Bourbon St with none of the noise! It is surrounded by restaurants. We arrived earlier than anticipated and were told our room would be ready in an hour, so we migrated...

We just got back from New Orleans. The Prince Conti Hotel was excellent. Rooms were very clean, Bathroom shower pressure was great, staff was helpful and nice. Location was great, just a block down from Bourbon Street. I would def recommend to park at the hotel, your car is safe and you can come and go as you please but...

Great little property with lots of charm. From the front desk staff to housekeeping, everyone made us feel right at home. One lady at the front desk (can't remember her name) helped us plan two days of fun in the french quarter with tours and dinner. She was a delight. The hotel is definitely boutique and a little bit older,...

This was a really interesting hotel to stay at. It has so much charm and the location is great. We were 3 people in one room and it was large enough to fit us without problems. The only thing that bothered us (which would be the reason we would not stay here again) was the cleanliness of the room. Apart...

This is a very basic hotel, just steps to Bourbon Street. It is reasonably clean, certainly not spotless as in other reviews. We stayed from January 11-14 before a cruise and on the 21st after the cruise. BEWARE OF SOME OF THE ROOMS. The first room we were offered had no windows. I don't even know if that is legal....

This hotel is another one of those historic New Orleans gems. The nature of the French Quarter is crowded, so don't go expecting a sprawling brand new piece of modern architecture. Instead, if you embrace the rich history and authentic detail that imbue this hotel with a museum-like grace and character, you will really, really enjoy yourself. Location is the...

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
