My entire experience from the time we drove in was remarkable......valet.....made me feel safe. I knew my car would be taken care of like I would. Concierge was right there for anything I needed. The front desk not only where the courteous but answered all my questions about Mardi Gras and gave me tips on the good places to see...

This hotel is perfect for a nice quick stay in the heart of the french quarter. Bell&valet staff were very nice to us. Jeremy I believe was the bellman&he seems to be very over qualified for his position! Ever bit of info from inside and out from the hotel to attractions&restaurants he did not let us down I must say....

I stayed here on a Monday evening in early December. Did not have a reservation anywhere so I recalled that I had stayed here about 20 years ago so thought I would see what I could get for a last minute price. For $50 I was in. The location is perfect, the food and bar was just right. The room...

Hotel St Marie was incredibly accommodating to me during Mardi Gras / Super Bowl weekend! The concierge, John Marshall, was wonderful. The location is fantastic, the staff warm and welcoming, the bar and restaurant very nice. I would definitely stay here again!

We've been staying in the French Quarter for the last 9 yrs or so. Hotel St. Marie has been one of the best so far. The location is wonderful, so close to the action of everything. We were impressed with the size of the room itself, it was larger than any of the others we have stayed in. We were...

I stayed here 10 years ago and it's quite evident that in time in between, they have not invested any money back into the rooms. The beds were very uncomfortable, room appeared dirty but think it was just dingy. The bathrom door gave no privacy, the mirror chipping and so on. The service given by front desk, bar and restaurants...

Everything was great from the service, food, cleanliness to a great location. For the price you can't beat it. We had a great time. The only minor set back is the doors in the hotel. You can't close your room door quiet. We aren't late nighters which is what makes the location so great. A couple times we were just...

Nice historic hotel with most amenities just a 1/2 block from Bourbon Street. My room was modest, but nicely furnished in Victorian style. Very clean, but somewhat dated. Restaurant Vacherie served a very good Creole breakfast. The lovely courtyard is a major feature, but it rained while I was there, so I didn't spend any time in it. As with...

I am amazed at the positive reviews of this place. We had a booking here through hotwire in October and the room assigned to us had a water leak: There was a non-stop drip into the room - after an initial complaint a maintenance person came - who clearly indicated he had looked at this before and had told management...

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
