We stayed for five nights. I was a little concerned after reading previous reviews, but we had a great time at Hotel St. Marie. Everything was clean. The bed was comfortable. The towels fluffy and the sheets were nice. We did look at the T.V and did chuckle. It is outdated like other reviews say, but we never turned it...

This is the first review I've ever written for Trip Advisor, but I just made the time to create an account because I wanted to say how absolutely wonderful the Hotel St. Marie is. I was there in the days immediately following Hurricane Isaac. My room was spotless, the bar downstairs is great (though the staff in the cafe next...

Great location right in the heart of the quarter, but far enough from the crazyness of bourbon street to be peaceful. Service was great, and everyone was cheerful. But the hotel is due for an upgrade. The carpets need to be replaced, and the louvered doors were dusty

I read the reviews but had no idea how perfect this location was! It was our first time in NOLA and we absolutely loved it. The rooms were clean (and quiet!) , the staff was very helpful and the little courtyard with pool was so cute & quaint. If I had to think of one negative, I guess it would...

The last time I was here, there was no bar or restaurant. The bar is very nice and there is a nice dining room area. There is also a small shop where you can purchase small items and snacks. I ate at the bar and the food was very good. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. I was...

We have a beautiful room...nice and big,but it smells musty.... However once you get used to the smell, it is a charming place to stay! Have an excellent receptionist(Jenn) and a handsome young man that are most helpfull with info of tours and location of shops! Inner court seem to be the meet-and-greet place and we had afternoon Cocktails with...

We found Hotel St. Marie to be perfect for our short stay in New Orleans. Just steps from Bourbon Street this hotel was perfect for our stay.It is hard to believe we were so close to all the noise of Bourbon Street. The hotel and grounds were so quiet. Their are many rooms with different furnishings and flavors so you...

The bar in the hotel is perfect for a night I will definitely stay here again on my next trip to NOLA.cap or an early am Bloody Mary. One of the things I enjoy about traveling is finding a "go to" hotel/place for return trips. Having been to some other hotels in New Orleans, none of which I would return to, it was really satisfying finding this quiet gem one block off Bourbon St. It's not large, but is big on comfort, welcoming, friendliness, and a cozy feeling....

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
