This B&B is dirty, tired bed linens, carpets worn and filthy, towels old and mismatched. Bathroom sink very slow draining. There is no one to carry luggage to the second or third floor. Breakfast very basic. Breakfast room old and again dirty....guests asked to bus their own dishes. Kitchen looked tired, old and not very clean. Female desk clerk unknowledgable...

To say I am surprised by this negative review would be an understatement! As readers can see from the very many glowing reviews, this is almost as if the guest stayed at a different hotel. I don't even know where to begin to respond to the comments. It is true that our towels are mismatched (by design, so that folks...

We were in NOLA for a family wedding and a large group of us stayed at the Parkview. As always the service was impeccable, breakfast wonderful and extras (wine, cookies, sherry etc) much appreciated. We love that the older folks can sit on the porch, while the younger people can walk in the park or hop the street car. Parking is free, which in NOLA...

We loved hosting your family for such a special milestone event!! I agree that sitting on the front porch is an absolute joy for old folks, but also for anyone who loves to people watch. Thank you so much for you review!

This beautiful home is right next to Audubon Park and if you are in Room 11, you have amazing Park views!. The home is absolutely beautiful and unlike many old Inns in New Orleans, this one is in great shape and is neither tired nor grungy. Every inch of this home is clean and welcoming. Facing the Streetcar line and...

This is a very beautiful hotel, which was decked out for Christmas during our stay. This made our trip even more enjoyable. The hotel has a welcoming and homely feel to it. I felt as if I was transported back over 100 years ago into an elegant home. All of the staff were very helpful, nice and also welcoming. Breakfast...

Thanks so much for staying with us during the Christmas holidays. We had so much fun decorating Park View for our guests' enjoyment! And you are absolutely correct that there is no need to move your car once it is parked. We are fortunate that our location provides excellent access to our historic streetcars. The current electrified version of the...

My husband and I stayed here with other wedding guests. If you are looking for something historic and full of NOLA charm, this is the place to be. The porch was great so sit on and watch the street cars as well as the many people walking down the street at all times of the day. It's very secure and...

Thanks so much for your kind remarks about your stay with us. We really enjoy being part of these important life events, and we take them very seriously. After all, happy memories last a lifetime! I am a big fan of our front porch, too. And some nights, my husband and I sit out with a glass of wine or...

Nice B&B right on the corner of Audubon Park across from Tulane and Loyola. Also right on the St Charles trolley line, which goes straight into the French Quarter. We stayed in room E, which was very private and quiet (if you stay in this room the outlet in the bathroom is behind the mirror). The staff was great. They...

Thanks so much for the positive comments about your recent stay with us. Room E is one of my favorites and the bed is a very special one, made in NOLA back in the 1850s. You are correct that our pastries are store bought! We generally hope that our guests focus on the wonderful entree selections for breakfast, and think...

This is the second time this year that I have stayed at the Park View, the first time to visit a friend, and this time as a Christmas gift for my mom, who hadn't been to New Orleans in 30 years. The hotel is in a great location, right across the road from Tulane and Loyola (so it would be...

This place was recommended on the New Orleans Chabad webpage because it's a short walk to the shul for people who keep Shabbat. They also respect the fact that the electronic front door lock can't be used on Shabbat and provide an alternative. We were delighted with the warmth and enthusiasm expressed by the staff who went overboard to help...

Staying in Uptown / Carrollton

Neighbourhood Profile
Uptown / Carrollton
Very much their own self sufficient unit within the greater metro area, Uptown and Carrollton tone down the urban edge with a friendly attitude and collegiate feel. Home to Tulane and Loyola Universities, all the students living in the area ensure that Uptown and Carrollton stay youthful, cosmopolitan and vibrantly fun. Two of the liveliest thoroughfares for nightlife and socializing (and yes of course more of the city’s outstandingly good food and live music) are Oak Street and Maple Street. For a truly wild time, the expansive acreage of Audubon Park, with its zoo, golf course, and actual patches of swampy wetlands, means peace and quiet are never too far away.
