This is an excellent choice for a hotel close enough to Bourbon Street and close enough to all the other main atttractions that New Orleans has to offer for someone who wants to walk. The prices have gone up $50 a night on the weekends since last year. We come to NOLA every August, same weekend, and we did notice...

We chose this hotel because they allow pets and we were traveling with our two cats. Though expecting an animal friendly hotel we were not prepared for the reeking urine and other animal smells. We stayed in a king suite and we had to ask them to treat the room as it smelled so bad. The staff were very friendly...

Stayed there last night on our cross America trip with family and dog. Paid $175 plus $40 for oversized parking. It was a Friday, saints game night, which means price was higher. It was great given location to French quarter and with pet. Other hotels wanted $300 for us and $$175 for dog. Walking dog is a challenge as there...

This hotel is the perfect location for experience downtown New Orleans. It is a short walk away from bourbon street but far enough away from the action that you are able to get some sleep. They have breakfast every morning for you before you do your exploring. Nice for a cheaper way to stay compared to the pricey hotels in...

Decent location but not well kept up. They don't spend the money needed to make it a nice hotel. One hotel elevator was out of service the weekend, our room not cleaned one night and not until after 5 the next night. Understaffed. Some staff friendly and helpful, some not. Not a horrible experience but if you're going to spend...

Booked here because we travel with our dog, but this LaQuinta is not like others. The first room that they gave us smelled like urine and body odor, the staff was very friendly and switched our room. After we got settled in the second room, we took the dog outside to do his business. Unfortunately, the alley next to the...

My first room ( following a slow elevator wait and ride) was not made up - returned to desk ( Same elevator) and told the desk gal. She scowled and issued two new keys and told me the room number- nothing else. I said " IS that it? No apology, no 'sorry about that' or anything?" She said " I...

My hubs and I checked in here late on a Friday night. I quickly had sticker shock over the price to park... $25 a day!! This was the difference between staying in a small town and NOLA. It could not be avoided, so I quickly accepted it and moved on. We were traveling with our Yorkie, Enzo, at a hotel...

Worst hotel experience ever! Nasty, filthy, stinky room. Noise and rude guest who woke all the dogs at 3AM. Reported this to the desk. Apparently, "security" informed the noise makers who complained, because, rude guests upped the noise & taunted us through our door at all hours the remainder of our stay. Parking was supposed to be inside covered, but...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
