Great place to stay while visiting New Orleans. Centrally located for transportation and restaurants. The staff of the hotel was most helpful in finding places to go for trips to tour the city and places to eat. It rained the whole time we were there but did not bother us because of the location.

Stayed here for two nights on a recent visit to New Orleans. The hotel is well located, the staff is great and the rooms are clean. Free breakfast in the lobby is a nice way to start the day. Lots to do in New Orleans and this hotel is a good base from which to start.

Enjoyed our stay traveling with two 86 year old family members desiring a fun trip to visit the fun places they lived back in the 1950's and 60's in NOLA while students. The hotel has easy asccess via their own parking lot, elevators, accessible rooms. Uber and cabs were easy to hail. Hotel lobby is warm and comfortable. The outdoor... More

Very satisfied with accommodations and value. I would definitely stay at this hotel again. Access to the streetcar was helpful to dine at a good restaurant. Free parking is a bonus while staying in New Orleans.

We stayed here 2 nights prior to taking a cruise. We liked the quiet location in the garden district. We enjoyed the Superior Grill Mexican food next door. We stayed at Hamptoon Inn New Orleans-St. Charles Ave/Garden District during our recent visit to New Orleans. The hotel is located on St. Charles Ave, a few miles from downtown. Parking is behind the building. It's in a great mixed residential/commercial neighborhood. The streetcar runs on St. Charles, making it very convenient for those who want to use that. The... More

I stayed here last year for a few days. Just as I stayed here again for a few days. They remodeled since I have been here last. I think this is funny because usually hotels only remodel when they are in real bad shape and they are very slow about it. I didn't even think this hotel necessarily needed to... More

Great Service. Friendly Staff. Clean Rooms. Great Breakfast Buffet, serve yourself, all you can eat, and it is complementary. The Trolley to go downtown is accessible in front of the hotel for only $1.25 per person each way. Parking downtown is very expensive.

We are accustomed to staying in the Quarter and decided to try another location. We were thrilled we did. The Hampton Inn NOLA Garden District is lovely--a boutique hotel in a wonderful, quieter area (unless it's Mardi Gras time as they're right on the parade route). I disagree with others' reviews. Our room was always spanking clean; we thought the... More

A comfortable stay, but they raised the price of the room during the stay Very disappointing. Breakfast is basic and bland. Staff is helpful when they are at the desk, but you often have to wait a while for them to come.

Staying in Garden District

Neighbourhood Profile
Garden District
Head to the Garden District for the full-on New Orleans experience replete with quaintly clanking streetcars, proudly grandiose antebellum mansions, picture perfect avenues lined with live oaks loaded down with Spanish moss, and a wealth of beautiful churches and many more architectural marvels. Even a brief excursion here makes plain why it’s called the Garden District. So, when you visit be sure to give yourself ample time for admiration at a languidly slow pace befitting such gentile strand of riverside living and to allow you to maximize each opportunity to stop and smell the roses – and whichever other blooms you might come across. While taking it all in, you’d do well to dine at one of the city’s most beloved destinations for regional cuisine. Gourmands from far and wide (and right round the corner) swear the age-old Commander’s Palace is the best restaurant in town – and have been doing so since it opened back in 1880.
