Whenever I visit NOLA, I will be sure to stay at the ACE Hotel - this Jewel is awesome! The rooms were spacious and art deco and the hotel lobby had a chic vibe with a heightened buzz. During my four day stay, the staff was always very attentive and accommodating - kudos to the front desk for setting the tone with a friendly welcoming upon my arrival. The attention to detail by the staff must be a testament to the leadership of the general manager and hotel manager. Keep doing what you do because your staff is making a difference. I can't wait to return.
Everything about this hotel is cool, and we can't wait to go back. The staff was warm and hospitable, the rooms were retro and comfy, the food and beverage scene is creative and everything you need - cocktails, coffee shop, restaurant, small bites. We left inspired to implement some of their design in to our own home. It was a group of 6 of us and the location was perfect for exploration of all of the NOLA neighborhoods and it's right on the streetcar line if you want to use that.
Crazy schedule on my part but the staff was up for it. Drove from DFW area leaving at 5PM on a Saturday. Arrived at the Ace Hotel at 1:30AM Sunday. I planned to park off-site but I was really tired and asked to valet park. No problem. Bryesha @ the front desk was all over it & within 30 seconds I had valet parking, late arrival & late checkout confirmed. Hit the sack at 2AM & was up @ 7AM. Met some friends staying by chance on the same floor so I left my bag in their room, checked out at the front desk early, had a great breakfast at the hotel restaurant & walked 6 blocks to the Caesars Superdome to see Saints last game of the season. Stayed for the Saints post game party, and rode a bike rickshaw back to the hotel. Drove out of the valet at 5PM & back to my home at 2AM. Very short stay but I had to be back on Monday to crack the whip. The hotel was great in every way and the staff was fantastic. I WILL be back!…
The location is great, the food is great, the rooms are large and comfortable--except for one thing. There is no door on the bathroom. There is a heavy, velvet curtain instead. This may be fine for married couples, but for those of us rooming with colleagues for a conference it's distinctly awkward!
Cool hotel, good location in the CBD area. Easy to walk to a ton of places or about a 10 min ride to most things. Really fun bar area in the hotel as well. Loved the staff, in particular, Bryesha-the assistant front office manager. We had a few questions and she was awesome in helping us. Very friendly.
I wouldn't stay again here if you paid me. Just came off a 5 night stay here and the rooms are like staying in a hostel and sleeping on a cot. I tend to stay at a lot of boutique hotels and prefer them to the chains. Prior to staying at NOLA my brother and I had just came from a night at the the Fairlane Hotel in Nashville and after NOLA we stayed at the Claremont hotel in ATL. Wow, night and day from the Ace. The Fairlane and Claremont were top notch, with beds that were so amazing it was hard to leave. The beds at the Ace are so stiff and extremely uncomfortable. The rooms are so basic, extremely no frills and just plain cold and uninviting, which is extremely frustrating given how much they charge a night. Look elsewhere when staying in NOLA because you're only paying for location and a trendy vibe that definitely delivers in areas like the lobby/bar and adjoining restaurant. The rooftop pool and bar is also nice but those few perks are def not worth the money to stay here when you don't get comfort and a good night sleep.…
Ace is not a national brand, but does its best to exceed expectations. I took a flyer and got my room through a discount travel booking service. I was not expecting a great room. I got a clean, comfortable, quiet room in easy walking distance to everything we were in town to do. Pros: 2 clean comfortable beds in a quiet room. Great, patient front desk service (thanks Rasheena). Easy navigation around the city center. Cons: I have no complaints.
Mediocre at best. We’ve been staying at various Ace hotels since our wedding night 22 years ago… having now stayed at the Ace New Orleans four times I feel justified in saying that this hotel is not what it once was. We came for Christmas and thought we’d stay here one more time because even if the rooms are very dark and cave like, the service was always great and the decor felt quirky and fun… this does not translate to Christmas time. The hotel didn’t feel festive, the rooms felt tired and worn out and the staff was less than friendly. I realize there will be limited staff on Christmas morning, but a four star hotel without the ability to provide even one cup of coffee to the guests, seems unacceptable. Not to mention the pushback and rude treatment we received when asking if there was anything available. In trying to surprise my family with holiday packages I realized I had forgotten the tape. When I asked for literally “a piece of tape” I was told they couldn’t give out the office supplies and directed me to the CVS down the road. It was 18 degrees outside and it’s Christmas! The maid service left our room unlocked all day, and when we came back to the room our door was open. Again, I have stayed at the Ace in Seattle, New York, Portland and New Orleans so I feel justified in saying I won’t be returning to this hotel, when there are so many other places in NOLA where you’ll be treated properly.…
We LOVED The Ace New Orleans. My favorite Ace I’ve been to anywhere. Great staff, spacious rooms, amazing lobby with a music venue, bar, restaurant, coffee shop, and place to hang out. Everything down to the art reflects the culture and vibrancy of the city so well. All the staff were great - bell hop, room service, housekeeping, front desk, bar, etc. And it’s well located close to good food and easy to walk to or cab to other areas.
