Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.

A friend recommended this hotel to us, and having stayed at the Ace in New York I was optimistic. I was right to be. It is in a great location (as well as being a short walk from downtown there is a Rouses supermarket nearby which we loved!), and is very welcoming. There is a lovely friendly atmosphere in the hotel. Our room was fabulous, roomy, with a large Smeg fridge, air conditioning, a sofa and a record player. The bed was really comfortable, and the bathroom clean, with the most powerful toilet flush in the world! We loved it here and wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

I love the vibe of the hotel, it's cool, it's jazzy, it's fun. But the overall experience has more to do with the people. When I checked in on a Saturday afternoon, I was told my organization hadn't sent over the credit card authorization form. It had been sent over at least a week prior. My credit card was taken for incidentals, which I expected. What I didn't expect was for my debit card to be charged for additional hotel room charges, at one point, I was billed $473, on another day $184, etc.. When I contacted the front desk, I was told "not to worry about it, it would come off in about 5-7 days", which to be honest, was very disappointing. I was hoping for some empathy, followed up by action "I'm so sorry, let me see what I can do to help you". I had to contact my bank to resolve the situation. My room was hot and I called the front desk, and was told an engineer would come right up. No one showed up. The next day, the engineer showed up and it was the air filter that was clogged. They changed it the next day. When I checked out 5-7 days later, I experienced the same situation. "We don't have your credit card authorization on file." Again, I had to go through the same explanation, pull up the email that had been sent to them and be told "oh yeah, here it is". When I checked out, I had a 3 hour delay between my hotel checkout and flight so I had to check my bags. I was told to give the people holding the bags 3 minutes. I almost missed my shuttle waiting to get my bag. The gentleman grabbing the bags was really slow. Really disappointing customer service. Beautiful hotel, bad service.

Loved our first time here. You were highly referred by a friend and colleague. His glowing praise set our expectations fairly high. However, these expectations were not only met, but also surpassed. We will definitely be back. The staff here are some of, if not THE, most welcoming of any hotel I've stayed. Thank you very much for a great trip to NOLA.

Very cool and unique hotel in a great downtown location. I was only there one night for a conference but the staff was great. The rooms and common areas all have a very unique style. The meeting are was also great. I really enjoyed the brief time I spent there.

No reserved pool chairs for guests. It’s first come first serve at pool. Can get busy on weekends for sure.

Is the pool heated?
I think so but can’t swear by it. It was easter and we swam happily and I hate cold water. Not a huge pool though!
