I've been coming here with my family since I was a kid and it remains the nicest hotel in this tegion with it's comfortable air-conditioned rooms, beautiful garden, magnificent view of the lake and big swimming pool. Jorge and Nancy are wonderful hosts and have accumulated a life's worth of jungle experiences and anecdotes.

Nancy and everyone at Hotel La Mansion Del Pajaro Serpiente went out of their way to be helpful and accommodating ... from helping us plan our trip to Tikal, to advising us on local buses, to making sure they served us food that was tasty and to our liking. No problem at all cooking vegetarian for me. Price is very...

We stayed in Villa #4 and enjoyed the sunset over Lake Peten. It's high on the hill so the view of the lake was great! The owner and his staff were ready for us and very accommodating. They offered us a different room at the same price to accommodate our kids which was really nice. We played in the pool...

We arrived during a downpour of rain and received a warm welcome. We stayed in the honeymoon suite which was the same price as other aircon rooms. It was a tough hike up to the room with steps and grass but you are rewarded with a beautiful view of the lake with total privacy and its own pool. The gardens...

This was a delightful and welcoming retreat. Our group had to change plans due to wet roads elsewhere, and landing here was a wonderful experience. Nancy is a very welcoming host. We enjoyed the grounds abounding in plants and flowers, the price of the great view is that it is on the hillside, so the walkways are for the able...

My wife and I stayed here when we toured the ruins at Tikal with Roxy Ortiz. We flew from the US into Flores, where the hotel had arranged for a taxi to meet us at about 7:30 p.m. By the time we cleared customs and got to El Remate it was around 8:30. Because we did not know how late...

This place has a really beautiful grounds, its like a piece of paradise. Lush vegetation, stone pathways, pools, a picturesque view of the lake and Nancy is a friendly and helpful hostess. We stayed three nights in a very comfortable villa with a thatch roof and wonderful lakeview sitting area. If you want to visit more Maya sites than Tikal,...

We made a last-minute change to stop here on the way back from Tikal, wanting to laze around a pool some more. This hotel is perfect for that - the sunset over the lake is breathtaking and the pool is a lovely surprise at the top of the property. I agree that the owners don't bend over backwards to accomodate...

The property and rooms are gorgeous, the views beautiful and the owners couldn't be more friendly and helpful. It made the entire place seem so comfortable, like being at home. “The cottages are all very reasonable. Although we have been married for quite a while, we asked for the honeymoon suite simply because we assumed it would be big enough for all our luggage. There was a sitting room, a comfortable bed, and a large bath with plenty of hot water all for $75 US.”

“We didn't have much trouble with noise, but be careful. The bungalow we stayed in was a multi-room bungalow, and we were downstairs. The people upstairs were quiet, but the floors are thin and it could have been noisy.”
