We came to the Black Hills for a week, and Big Pine was a wonderful home base. It's close to all the attractions, but an oasis of peace among the pines. Our campsite was perfect, with lots of space between us and our neighbours. Ron was great, helping us place our 37' fifth wheel within inches. The laundry and other... More

We stayed here in our 32 ft. 5th wheel trailer July 24-31, 2016. The owners were available and the campground was well maintained. We needed a site that would work for our trailer and also help getting backed in and they accommodated us. When hail broke two of our skylights, Ron, the owner, came by to help us put garbage... This was our first long trip out with our brand new camper. The owners were welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. The sites were all great. They were spacious enough and comfortable. The bathrooms and showers are well maintained and clean. There are mature trees throughout the campgrounds. The location is situated close enough to all of the tourist locations.... More

I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed this campground. The location is perfect, as there is so much to see. The facilities were nice, big and clean. The campsites are spacious and wooded. I wish that we were able to stay more nights here so we had more time to relax by a campfire. The owners/staff were very... More

My first American campsite experience after many European. I heard good and bad things about campsites in the USA. This first experience is awesome. We got a beautiful tent site nicely apart from the Big RV's. Overlooking the west towards a little kind of valley with young pine trees, while we are between the big pines. This creates an awesome... This is the 6th time we have camped at Big PIne. We are very familiar with the Black Hills and this campground has the most natural habitat with many trees and rock outcroppings of any campground in the Hills. The owners, Ron and Angie greet you when you come in and escort you to your campsite, and deliver firewood to... More

My wife and I just spent 5 nights in this campground. It is rustic and the owners are very friendly. The first afternoon a hail storm hit the area and the owner was out and about checking on all the campers to make sure we were al ok.

The location was great, but the staff made the trip! The facility was beautiful with enough mature trees to provide shade and still allow great views and airflow and deer in the evening. Firewood delivery was a nice surprise.. Typical black hills weather can be unpredictable. After an afternoon hail storm, Ron was out immediately offering any help he could... More

Stayed 4 nights in the tent only section with our family of 5 (3 small kids). We are not ones that usually stay at private campgrounds but decided to try this as no availability in the near by state parks. Loved it here! Beautiful pines, open grassy area behind us with deer daily. Fire pit, cooking grid and picnic table.... More

We stayed in our Travel Trailor at Big Pines for 4 nights. It was the perfect base camp to take our family to see the sights. It is located just outside of the adorable town of Custer, in the state park. We stayed at a full hookups site. The campground is clean and spacious with lots of trees between sites.... More
