This maybe an old property but it is comfortable and clean. IT IS NOT THE RITZ! I remember traveling in the '50s & '60s. This is what we stayed in then. The rooms are small, they still have old TVs but it is clean as a whistle. The manager is cool. He discount cards for everywhere in town it seems...

This motel is in the center of town and within walking distance to all Custer shops and restaurants. The pool and hot tub are nice, but was packed with kids most of the time so we only used once. The 25 cent soda machine is out of order, so that was a bummer too. The rooms are a little small,...

We were just looking for a place to sleep while in the Black Hills. The rooms were very reasonably priced and the owners were wonderful. The only problem I had was the door to the room had a space under it and I worried about things getting in from outside. But we had no claw lung visitors so it was...

Our room was very clean and comfortable, and the staff were very helpful and friendly - giving us a place to go to on the Fourth of July when our car got a flat, and giving us helpful advice on the area's attractions. Everything worked in the room, and the location in Custer can't be beat. The beds are super...

The owner was extremely friendly, and we got a room that was very clean and suited our needs perfectly. The bathrooms were clean, and it was the most towels I've ever seen in one room. The water pressure was good and the water was hot. Great location right in the middle of Custer. If you want to overpay for fancy...

We stayed at Chief Motel for 3 nights in June while attending awesome Crazy Horse volksmarch and visiting several national caves in area. Our double room was small but clean. Bath towels were clean and reasonably soft. Water pressure was good. Windows opened. Room had lights on only one side of bed and few electrical plugs. Room had no phone...

My group stayed here a week and everyone loved the motel. If you're looking for clean - and I do mean CLEAN rooms- this is the motel for you! Bruce and Nancy bent over backwards to accommodate us. The guys loved the covered parking and clean towels for the bikes. The breakfast coupons for $1.99 are the bargain of the...

This motel was exactly what my family of three was looking for while staying in the BlackHills of South Dakota. The room was tidy and well kept. The motel itself was the same. In good shape and kept well and a charming reminder of what a old fashioned motel is supposed to be. We enjoyed the large indoor pool and...

After stopping at the Comfort Inn and were told the only rooms available would be $178 we found this little motel on Trip Advisor. We ended up with a two bedroom room. The rooms were clean, but could use some updating. The pink bathtub was a hoot. We also purchased the tickets for the $1.99 breakfast at the Wrangler Cafe,...
