Whatever you do, don't rent a room from Rob Blackwell's 'The Mayrhofen Experience'. They don't take care of the house, blame you for it and then take your deposit. They say they're going to fix things when they first meet you but when you get in contact with them about things that aren't working they get angry. They don't have...

Fortunately this provides us with a chance to comment on what can only be described as possibly the worst renting experience in over 10 years of business. We have closed the house for holiday guests and rented as short term lease for the Winter. The lease holders were contractually obliged to look after the house, not us. We were only...

Great value, great location. This family-run chalet has everything you need for a wonderful ski vacation. Would thoroughly recommend staying here. Will return for sure. The family which runs the chalet-hotel will go above and beyond for you. Very helpful with info on all the options in the area.

We have just returned from a week at the Haus Schmidhofer (23 Feb - 02 March 2013), the chalet was great, just a little bit away from the town, which is only 5 mins walk away and a couple of minutes walk to the ski bus which runs every 10 mins to the Penken and Ahorn Bahn. The chalet was...

Great skiing and nightlife in Mayrhofen, and exactly what I want from skiing accommodation at Haus Schmidhofer. Recommended. Although I was only travelling with 3 others, and the chalet was full to capacity with one other large group, Laurian made us feel welcome from the minute we arrived to lierally the minute we left. There was an unexpected 3 course...

This was my 5th ski holiday overall but the first that wasn't entirely self-catered, so it was a novel experience. The meals were hearty and tasty. On arrival at 9pm after a fairly long day of travelling from London, we were greeted warmly by Rob and Lorrian, with a bowl of soup followed by a main meal of beef stew....

We knew that Haus Luxus was some way out of Mayrhofen but to be fair the owners really made that clear at every opportunity - so that was an inconvenience, not a surprise. Equally Haus Luxus did most things reasonably OK - to the standard you would expect. We stayed as part of a big group and the one thing...

For the most part we were a group of adults, but we also took two small children with us. Rob and Lily worked so hard to make sure everyone felt welcome and were catered for appropriately - even offering two mealtimes a couple of times in the week,so the adults could enjoy a child-free evening. The meals were hearty and...

Nine of us (all adults) have just returned from a week staying at Haus Luxus and had a very enjoyable time. Having booked everything via the internet, you're always a bit nervous as you're not sure if you've missed anything, but thankfully Haus Luxus exceeded our expectations. The food was excellent - especially Rob's homemade cakes and bread - and...

This was 2 star accommodation and services at 4 star prices. This feeling was compounded by the fact that the owner/manager had friends to stay for the first half of the week, giving the only 4 paying guests the notable impression that we were in the way. At the end of the week I left feeling that we had been...

This is how I saw the week they stayed. We do not normally offer any food or catering for infants, under 2 years, as stated in our emails and on our website. The first thing on their arrival they gave us the orders for infants eating arrangements. The early meals for the infant were done with no extra cost or...
