I have visited Kona Bali Kai twice in the last year and have had a wonderful time on both occasions. I always recommend this resort to friends and relatives. There's good parking and the security personnel are helpful and curteous.

Just returned from 2 weeks at Kona Bali Kai on the Big Island of Hawaii. We enjoyed all aspects of paradise. Easy access to all of the island from our lovely condo. The room and the support staff were exceptional! We fully intend to return very soon.

This is the 4th time we have stayed at Kona Bali Kai and our 5th trip to Kona. We will never stay anywhere else. The staff are great, the rooms are clean with spectacular views. The rock pools out the front are amazing and turtles are everywhere.

I had the privelege of staying at the Kona Bali Kai from 9/2 - 9/7, 2012. Very much enjoyed my visit. When they say beach front, including outdoor grills they truly mean it. Extremely clean room, fully and impeccably furnished, great front desk staff and a pleasure. Without questionk I would stay there again in the future!

Booked an oceanfront 2 bedroom condo and was very pleased. The views were spectacular (see photo) and the accommodations were clean and spacious. This is a residential building rather than a hotel so don’t expect daily maid service (unless staying for longer periods or by prior arrangement, which you have to pay for) and the “front Desk” is only open...

Obviously, this unit has been remodeled, because the reviews from 2007 are not the same place we stayed! We LOVED Kona Bali Kai #408 during our stay in Kailua-Kona (7/14-7/21/12). The condo was PERFECT! What a beautiful place! We loved the decor and furnishings. The kitchen and bathrooms were updated with granite and high-end fixtures. Of course the best part...

Our favorite place to stay when we visit Kona is the Bali Kai. The majority of the condo units are ocean front - not just a peek of the ocean in the distance but waves crashing right at your feet. From our lanai we love watching the turtles come in every day to eat and sun themselves on the rocks...

Please, combine together all negative reviews from this topic and you will get mine. I was unlucky to stay in a mountain view room, facing the road. Noisy (both from the road and from the air-con), dirty, old kitchen, old bath, terrible linen. We escaped from the room the next morning. I'd have rated the hotel with 5 stars had...

My family of four recently spent 7 nights in the Kona Bali Kai. I had stayed here about 25 years ago as a teenager with my parents, and I wanted to take my kids. So glad I did. I did A LOT of research thinking maybe something else would be better. I know that there are many more luxurious accommodations...

Management response:

It is always very enjoyable to hear that a family vacation in Hawaii is everything that was expected, we work every day to make this happen. I am pleased that Kona Bali Kai is now part of your memories of Hawaii that will last your family a lifetime. Until we meet again. “A hui hou kakou” Stephen Hicks

Though the view was nice (how can you go wrong with a Hawaiian ocean view) our overall experience was poor. The room was not the greatest (or the cleanest) and much of the advertised functions were just not there. Wireless is not available in the rooms and you have to go in the lobby to use it. The kitchen was...
