Definitely a different experience. Kind of a B&B mixed with an Inn Heather, the manager/breakfast prep/organizer is terrific, a local Alaskan who was fun to meet The rooms in the main Inn are tiny, with small lofts that my two kids loved. Recognize that the room is small, though it did not really bother us it may bother some. Also,...

We enjoyed our stay. Excellent location; nIce, sunny breakfast room, friendly host, comfy beds, and Wi-fi. Kids liked sleeping in our room's upstairs loft. Would stay there again. Dallas family

If you only like to stay at finer hotels and resorts this place is not for you. If you are looking for a very friendly comfortable and inexpensive place to stay in Seward this is your place. The rooms are very small, and the furnishing are home made. The lofts are only about 4 feet high so crawling is a...

I stayed in the Swans nest recently. I travelled to Alaska from Ireland with my girlfriend. I spent 2 weeks travelling around Alaska. A Swans Nest was our favourite accomodation out of all the places we stayed in. When we arrived in seward we did not have any accomodation booked. We decided to see what was on offer when we...

We really enjoyed our 2-night stay at the Swan Nest Inn. The rooms are comfortable and beautifully decorated, and the lofts make for a fun change of pace, especially for kids. We loved the vibe -- part hotel, part B&B, part dorm room. Enjoy the ocean view from the dining room or kick back in the TV room. You can...

I (the male part of NewOrleansBelle) found A Swann's Nest to be a fine place to stay. Great location, fine view (from some rooms and the common area), interesting history, reasonable (for Alaska) rates, helpful maps and books for hiking etc., no frou-frou to move out of the way. An informal, 'serve-yourself' kind of place. On the other hand, the...

. Sometimes when I've stayed at b&b's or inn's there is a hotel-like feel, with the two queen beds and headboards, a few lame pictures on the walls, and a coffee pot in the corner, well not at the swan's nest! I am all ways greeted with a warm welcome to a unique and beautiful place to stay. Heather the...

I loved my stay there. I had so much fun while I was down in Seward! I especially liked the sourdough, blueberry pancakes, they were amazing! I can't wait to go and stay at the Swan Nest Inn again!

Of all the places I stayed during 3 weeks in Alaska, this ranks bottom of the list, even below the soulless hotel airport I stayed in arriving late the first night in Anchorage. The beds and other handmade-from-wood furniture and fixtures are beautiful, and the location near the water is awesome, but those are the only nice things I can...

The breakfast was fantastic! Go for the sourdough pancakes, the banana bread recipe is to die for also. The rooms were cozy and I especially liked the handmade bed frames and loft railings, they gave the room a very rustic and alaskan feel. The inn is also decorated with paintings from local artists, adding to the uniqueness. Sound does travel...
