First time to Alaska, and all that went agreed that our 2 night stay on Fox Island was one of the highlights of our trip. The location is unique and great - the accommodations are well kept and nice, the food was outstanding, and the staff was the best that we encountered our entire trip. The kayaking was just o.k. - wasn't much to see besides Puffins, unless Puffins are your thing. Hike was good. 2 nights is a great time to stay, and the Fjord excursion on the end was impactful and so great.

Best place to relax and enjoy wonders of nature... every day we had some new experiences - seeing the whales, looking for puffins, enjoying the sunset... We were surrounded by caring team who tried to fulfil all our dreams - the food and service was excellent, chef surprised us every day with new dishes, sauna was hot so we can even jump to the ocean after ... Unforgettable time:)

We are currently staying overnight at the lodge. Everything has been phenomenal. But tonight, literally 50 minutes ago, the chef for the lodge announced that he was not vaccinated for COVID after hanging out with the guests in an enclosed space unmasked. And he expressed anger at the high risk vaccinated guests who were worried about their exposure and food preparation. He likened the need for COVID exposure to the need for viral exposure 100 years ago and walked out of the room. To each his or her own, but while fully vaccinated, I’m still high risk. People should know what they are walking into during these crazy times. The chef’s conduct violates state and federal mandates. And I didn’t sign up to pay 700+ dollars a night to be exposed to the chef’s personal feelings about masks and vaccines. Have no clue how we are going to now eat here. But for this insane evening that I’m living through right now, the place is great.

What a treat as you wander this tiny island, kayak, hike and enjoy the deliciously prepared meals …Do yourself a favor and splurge for the experience!! We took the 7 hour glacier excursion after the stay in which we saw Dall porpoise and whales as well.

Lovely spot but not quite as advertised. The food was very pedestrian (definitely not the chef-foraged food on the website) and the solar power very limited. (We heard the generator almost the whole time.) That said, the location is unbeatable and the staff are wonderful.
