As we pulled up to the jetty, after a half an hour ride in a tinny from Seward, a group of guests greeted us..."welcome to heaven" they said, and as we looked around at our sublime surroundings, I think they just might be right. The...More

Our stay at Orca Island Cabins was the highlight of our trip to Alaska. We planned to stay for one night and after staying in Seward before the cabins, we decided we were looking for a more remote experience and changed our reservation to stay...More

A unique place to stay when visiting Seward Alaska, our nightly rental cabins are comfortable accommodations in a remote setting. Our rates include a 30 minute scenic cruise to the property from Seward as well as all the equipment use including kayaks, stand up paddle boards, rowing skiffs, and more.
We are interested in going to this island for 3 nights in August after a cruise. Are all the yurts overhanging the sea? As that is what we would want. Also how easy is it to get food and drink to take with you? If you catch fish is there anyone to gut it?

Thank you for your inquiry. All of our cabins are Ocean view properties, none of them are inland. Although one cabin does look like it is inland when viewing from the water; once you are on the yurt's deck you see that it is above the water and has the added bonus of being the most private. We do have cabins that overhang the water, but all overlook the water, and all have unbroken views of Resurrection Bay.
We have seven units, and thus our booking system requires the flexibility of arranging cabin allotments closer to the day of arrival. When requests are made we make every attempt to accommodate them. It is however challenging to facilitate guests checking in and out on different days of the week. Therefore we cannot guarantee cabin requests.
We hope that you will use the reviews as a reference; all the cabins are unique in there own way, and we have yet to received a complaint about any of the views from any of our cabins.
In the past we did not have a staff member on grounds. We recognize the need for this and as of last summer we now have an Orca Island Cabins staff on the property at all times. We do not clean fish, although we have the equipment and can help get you set up so you can do so on your own on the dock.
Please feel free to call me directly should you have other questions.
