An interesting trek to get there, but once you arrive, it is a view that you will never forget. Kim and David are incredible hosts who will spend endless time with you. The room was clean and comfortable with en suite bath. You have your own little private paradise.

We arrived at Vista Valverde during a rainstorm. The owners were wonderful and even offered to drive into town to get us dinner. The property was lovely and clean. I only wished that we had been able to stay a few more nights. The views were spectacular and the price was very reasonable. After chatting for a few hours before... More

Great place owned by a Tico and American. Beautiful grounds and safe on the top of a hill. Kids could check out the grounds. Unbelievably good price for the quality of buildings. Believe me, they won't blow over - we came when there was a strong pacific wind. Just come during the day - easier to find. NOne of the... More

We rented the family bungalow for our last night in Costa Rica. We picked this place because of the location. We had a 1pm flight out of San Jose and were traveling in from Monteverde, and didn't want to have to trek from Monteverde at 4am to get to the airport in time. So instead, we travelled 2.5 hours from... More

While many places you might say, "the pictures were better", with Vista Valverde the opposite was true - the pictures only begin to capture how beautiful the Pacific view was. The guest how was very spacious for a group of 4 travelers. The enormous, breezy patio was the perfect place to watch the sunset over the Pacific. Breakfast also enjoys... More

Thanks so much taking the time to write about your stay! I am glad you liked everything and yes - the tip about the directions cannot be said enough times! But folks will still call us bewildered as to why they can't drive up the cliff when google said so! jajaja. Thanks again for choosing to stay with us and... More

Vista Valverde was the first stop off during my trip to Costa Rica. I was able to organise an airport pickup with considerable ease through booking.com. The pickup was $60 and the journey around an hour. David and his wife kindly gave us the option of a late check out due to our late flight. From the airport we were... More

Be sure to find this place during the day if you don't have a gps that works or a phone. Once there, it's beautiful and the owners are very welcoming. The breakfast is fantastic and there are plenty of gardens to walk around.

David and Kim are wonderful hosts. We only spent 2 nights in one of their two "cabinas", but would like to return for a longer stay. Our cabin, Wiily's, sits up on the hill with a wonderful view all the way down to the Pacific. There is no heating or a/c - there is no need at 4000ft. Shorts and... More

If you're looking for an isolated but comfortable spot for enjoying Costa Rica, check out Vista Valverde. Kim and David are terrific hosts, and the site feels more remote than it is (less than 10 minutes from the town of San Ramon). The views of the Nicoya Peninsula, Gulf of Nicoya and Pacific Ocean are outstanding, especially at sunset. As... More

“If you want a tub, be sure to mention, because one cabin with 3 rooms has a shower (a nice one) and the cabin on the top of the hill with a kitchenette and one bedroom has a shower with big tub. Be sure to read the little booklet in the cabin about the cabin itself. Might be helpful.”

“The Palms you might have a neighbor, like a resort room that shares a balcony. If you want a cabin with no possible neighbor than rent the upper cabin, definitely has also amazing views, higher than the main house! Both are gorgeous! Might be a little chilly at night for some being at the mountain so a sweatshirt or light sweater is always handy.”
