Detailed Reviews
Hotel Val Vignes is located in the middle of the vineyards of Saint-Hippolyte with beautiful views, walking distance to do wine tastings. Very friendly and helpful staff. The restaurant is a must, affordable French/Alsace cuisine with of course excellent wines.

We had 4 nights in this hotel which were great, the room was very large and welcoming and so was the hospitality of the hotel. The restaurant was also great although due to the fact there was no breakfast buffet, you had to pre-order your breakfast which was a bit limiting. Only thing missing in the room was the lack of a refrigerator which would have made it excellent.

The booked Comfort room was okay, receptionists were very friendly, all luggage handling is difficult, service and cleanliness needs to be improved. Breakfast is okay, but service is not very good. Dinner in restaurant is average, also the ambiente.

Two night stay in Saint-Hippolyte (real taste of Alsace right under Chateau Haut Konigsbourg). Walk direct from hotel into vineyards and tastings. Hear the monks at mass.
Hotel is quite big but staff were very friendly and helpful. Great advice on tastings. Room was big. Highlight (other than the hearing mass being sung) was quality of dinner and wine by the glass selection. Good breakfast at 15€ per person.
We were facing the Chateau and would recommend the other side facing the village. Views are better in our opinion and early morning deliveries come into the car park on the Chateau side. Note no air conditioning however.

We had high hopes for this hotel. Unfortunately, the expectations were not met. Never thought that a room could be too big. However, the first very big room had only two beds and an ocean of emptiness. We were offered a second room and this looked better. The main problem is that this hotel is not worth 4 stars. Rather 3 or even 2 stars. You can see that attempts have been made to raise the hotel to a higher status, but there is still much work to be done. The location, one of the reasons why we chose this hotel, is fine. Indeed, one has a fantastic view over the valley.

I introduced this beautiful region to my wife and a befriended couple from Denmark and decided to book a 2 nights weekend getaway at the Hotel Val Vignes in St. Hippolyte.
The hotel itself is beautiful and so is the location. The service of the frontdesk team and all the employees we encountered is magnificent. We enjoyed every interaction with them. Beeing it pre- and afterdinner drinks, bike rental, wine storage; everything was great, and as mentioned, the staff is superb. The only disappointment was the actual room. We booked the Premium category, but the room didn't look at all as displayed. We had a parking view and the room was just OK. A bummer as it didn't match the overall wonderful experience we encountered at this exceptional hotel. Also, the room cleaning was not up to standard. Dirty towels (we put on the floor) were taken but not exchanged. Overall, we highly recommend this hotel, but we would ensure we will get an appropriate room per booked category when visiting again.

I appreciated the splendid location among the vineyards and close to Haut Koenisbourg castle, the structure and the kindness of the reception staff. The hotel has large rooms and convenient parking. Good value for money.

The hotel is built in an ancient abbey in the higher part of the village of Saint Hyppolite. Beautiful view and beautiful landscape. Room are very large and the silence and peace are over all. Staff is kind and take care of you. Positive experience!

it was really nice but rather on the expensive side. Luckily we've booked the last minute for 50% and that was really good. I'd really recommend this hotel for those who'd like to have a peaceful country vocation for a couple of days.
