Detailed Reviews
We booked this hotel through a flyer for 5 nights including dinner. Our room was very spacious well decorated and extremely clean. We had a balcony but we were on the backside of the hotel so we really didn’t have a view but it didn’t matter to us because we were out and about all day. The rooms on the front side have an excellent view of the castle at the top of the mountain. The hotel staff speaks French, Germany and English so it wasn’t hard to communicate with them. Dinner was a 4 course meal with large portions. The only drawback that someone might have is they only have the one 4 course Menü. It didn’t matter to us because everything they served was excellent. We couldn’t have eaten any better anywhere else. By the time dinner was over we were stuffed and satisfied. We will definitely be back to stay here. There is not much in the town but there are towns nearby to enjoy.

Have been here several times over the years. Beds are comfortable, rooms are quiet, in shoert, a pleasant place to stay. The cooking however has gone down dramatically, since when do tagiatelle figure on a menu of local specialities, or gazpacho, or brie ?? Eat flammekuchen on the terrace, and order a carafe of wine, we ordered a bottle of riesling, and 3,, one after the other, had fön, ie had passed their zenith.

On the first day of the new year, we were welcomed by Mohammed. Everything was impeccable, everything was perfect. Large and good parking facilities directly in front of the hotel.
We booked two nights and enjoyed a four-course meal in the hotel on both evenings. We can recommend this meal because it was perfect. A wine recommendation is the Pinot Blanc from 2017.
It should definitely be mentioned that all the staff were very polite and helpful. That is not a given.
The breakfast was perfect. Nothing was missing. Fresh baguette every day, small croissants in different variations, various types of cheese, cold cuts, scrambled eggs, bacon, etc. rounded off the breakfast. Fresh fruit, yogurt, etc. were perfect. A perfect machine with many coffee specialties was great. The icing on the cake was the well-chilled Crémant in the morning. All in all, a very good breakfast, which is not always common in France.
The room we were assigned was very nice and perfect. Relatively large, with a seating area (table with 2 armchairs) and a balcony. A relatively new bathroom that was spotlessly clean and equipped with a shower (rain shower) that was absolutely good. A toilet was separate, clean and tidy.
For example, for the second day we can suggest the following route. From Saint Hippolyte to Kaysersberg (24 kilometers). Very nice place, where you should definitely take a walk. From there to Eguisheim (13 kilometers), where a walk is also worthwhile. Continue to Ribeauvillé, (20 kilometers), also very worth seeing. Here we can only recommend the BOTT winery, which is a bit outside (opening times 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.). Continue to Bergheim (4 kilometers), where a walk through the town is definitely worthwhile. We can recommend the restaurant La Mosaique, where you can have a bite to eat. If you still have time, it is worth continuing on to Barr and Mittelbergheim (33 kilometers) and then returning to Saint Hippolyte (26 kilometers).
At this point, many thanks again to Mohammed and the entire team. We would be happy to come back.

A beautiful location and base to explore Alsace. We had on our balcony (room 17) a nice view of the castle Haut Koenigsbourg. The room was spacious. That was positive, but there was also quite a bit that was disappointing:
- bad mattresses
- no mini fridge and coffee and tea, or water in the room
- you could not put enjoyed drinks in the room, had to pay per drink. That didn't feel welcoming
- restaurant has a set menu per day. You had to book in advance. If one doesn't like fish or meat, or is vegetarian and the other does, you have a problem. We therefore did not eat there.
- receptionist didn't even look up when you came in, let alone greet you. Not very welcoming
For the price you paid, a 4 star hotel, which is also offered by the ANWB we were disappointed. All in all had a nice week

We took this Pension because we had already been very pleased with another Pension in the Resivac chain. Very nice welcome and nickel room (and the view!!! Beautiful!). A big plus for cyclists (which is not mentioned enough in my review) is the fact that there are several garages available to guests to make the bikes safe. We came especially for cycling in the vineyards (it's superb!!!) and didn't even know there was the possibility to put our bikes there. For the meals, which we had in the Pension, we were a little less impressed.... Good, but for the Award (35€) there is a way to do better. Extra breakfast though. And the pool! I think it has been added recently; what a delight to go swimming after a long day cycling. There is a brand new sauna also, a nice surprise. Drinks are not at the Point of Sale... Alas. Otherwise, really recommend!

Superior double suite, 4th floor.
Unbelievable view. Hotel well located compared to departures from walks.
Archaic room, bad smells, smashed mattresses, windows could not be dirtier, renovated shower, carpet to see again, dust mites very probably well present. Bad nights.
Breakfast could not be easier.
OK gluten-free (bread and cheese only available + yogurt and fruit).
Top welkness area, even if the sauna temperature is not reached.

There is an old carpet in the room that is at least 40 years old. It is full of stains....it is not very hygienic! especially since a pungent smell is released when you enter.
Apart from this detail which is unfortunately important, the bedding is very good. The staff is great, very attentive to the slightest comment, polite and friendly. The meal is good even if unfortunately it is not cooked on site. For my part, the really positive side of this experience is the kindness and know-how of the staff!

Had a very good holiday, staff very friendly and helpful,
Room perfect! (maybe a small fridge in the room would be great)
Everything was there on the breakfast buffet! (too bad it wasn't fresh bread delivered in the morning by a baker, that always tastes better!)
We enjoyed the evening menu!!

Hotel very well located, in the middle of the vineyards and away from the hustle and bustle. Heartwarming welcome. Impeccable restaurant. Top quality dishes prepared with finesse. Hearty and balanced dishes. Welcoming dining room. Very competent service.
Very comfortable room, impeccable bedding. Only downside: impossible to shower without having water all the way to the middle of the bathroom!! Insufficient shower slope. No soap dish in the shower… too bad!
