Excellent environment in an idyllic setting with a small lake, black swans. very comfortable room supported by excellent customer focussed staff. Wonderful gourmet cuisine. The kitchen is run by an excellent chef, Remy Le Charpentier, who together with his staff, will serve you dishes to remember for a long time to come. The local Bergerac wine is a must to...

A really charming hotel close to Bergerac airport and city. Beautiful room, grounds and friendly helpful staff. The food is amazing!!! We enjoyed the tasting menu and the excellent wine recommended to us which was a local variety. We will definitely be back!

The hotel and the surrounding grounds are just beautiful. The owners welcomed us on arrival and showed us around the hotel. We were staying for the night and enjoying a set dinner with a guest pastry chef. The restaurant is very professional and yet relaxing.

The hotel is located in a beautiful countryside in France. The accommodation is beautiful, clean and well maintained. Apparently they have renovated an old structure built in 17th century (or around that time). There is a nice common area/lobby area with a fire pit where you can have a drink or a coffee. The staff were really helpful, nice and...

This is a charming boutique hotel that is situated in a large park, making it quiet and peaceful. Our room opened onto the garden - perfect for relaxing. The hotel had few guests and dinner taken in the restaurant was excellent. The menu was well balanced and the wine reasonably priced. Local wines featured prominently. The breakfast was of a...

Beautiful property somewhat secluded, but, a quick ride to Bergerac and a bit longer to Periguex. The landlords Brigette and Jean Louis could not be more accomadating and offer quiet seclusion in an idyllic country setting. The dining room offered 5 star fare with service to match the finest restaurants found. Enjoyed every moment of our stay ... Just a...

We booked here to relax for a few days between 2 hectic periods of school holiday. We had connecting rooms. The rooms were lovely. Fairly simple but v comfortable. The grounds were fantastic. We spent a lot of time by the pool. On both mornings we were the only people there but it became a little busier in the afternoon....

Every year I spend a week at La Chartreuse du Bignac. And every year there's something new. This year, it's been the Restaurant and its terrace. Bravo! A real success. Both breakfast and dinner are delicious. A big thank you to the owners and the employees, professional and charming.

I visit the Chartreuse once or twice per year. This time, I booked an appartment, "La Maison du Boulanger" as my daughter was travelling with us: private garden, direct access to the pool, superb. And we tried the new restaurant. We had dinner and breakfast on the terrace with its breathtaking view of the Dordogne hillside. Dinner is "haute Dordogne...

We stayed for four nights and on day two I got an awful attack of food poisoning. To be fair, this could have been the ham sandwich on Le Shuttle. It was so bad that we had to stay an extra night, just so I could muster the strength to stand up and put my legs into a protective Tesco...
