Not your standard, hotel room that you find in all of the chain hotels. But the beds are clean and comfortable, the rooms are well equiped and recently renovated. Mini frig, microwave, nice table by the window. Providing a very comfortable place in down town to dry off before heading back out for more sight seeing in this historic gold...

Don't judge by outside appearance. Booked this on line, but upon arrival, from the outside and the lobby, was afraid I had made a big mistake. Not so once inside the NEWLY refurbished rooms . Very nice, clean, new from the wall studs out. Not the largest rooms but plenty of room for two. Would definitely stay again!

Somewhere there is a sign that states "Alaska closed mid-September to mid-May. I was stuck in Skagway on my way home from Whitehorse, Yukon. Fortunately Sgt. Preston's Lodge is open in October. The rates are good for this area and the rooms are very nice. Clean and comfortable with a very good bed. I highly recommend staying with these friendly...

This is a really good motel to stay if you happen to spend the night in Skagway, Alaska. I saw two of their rooms and they were much better than what I expected. From the outside, it may look bad. However, you may be surprised with the excellent condition inside it. Small fridge in the rooms, spacious bathroom ( I...

Was a fantastic time. Room was clean and very comfortable. Recommend this hotel highly to everyone. Located in heart of Skagway. No need for a car in Skagway. Bathroom was modern and updated. Very clean and quiet area. Beds were clean and comfortable, room had 2 queen size beds.

Nice family owns this. We stayed in two different rooms at two different times. Very homey and comfortable. The newer addition in the back probably is in better shape, but my husband enjoyed all the carpentry work done in the older wing. Very nice!! It was like going to visit in your best friend's house. Lobby is open for coffee...

I had a nice stay at this motel, the room was super clean and inviting. Once in the room there is a big double bed, bedside tables, television, dining table and a heater, through to the bathroom there's a bath with shower over the top and obviously a sink and toilet, there was also some toiletries provided such as; shampoo,...

Room was very nice, quiet and comfortable and clean. The office area was a bit of a mess but this adds to the character of the place. Office area has a fairly extensive "leave a book/take a book" area - nice! Staff are all wonderful folks. Overall, would definitely recommend Sgt. Preston's Lodge. Walking distance to everything. Oh wait, this...

I enjoyed my stay at Sgt Preston's. If you like a small eclectic place and a chance to chat with the owners you'll be comfortable here. Nothing fancy but clean and cozy. I felt welcome. Hiked the Chilkoot trail so I started and ended my visit to Skagway here. Skagway is small and walkable and this hotel is centrally located.

Very central. When I drove to the lodge, the outside left me a little unsure. I went into the lobby to check in and the owners were there, very friendly and very helpful. When I went to go check on my room, I was pleasantly surprised. The room offered everything I needed, comfortable bed, place to put my luggage and...
