The beautiful cabins are nestled among the trees. They have a rustic feel but have amazing amenities. Wood stove, microwave, fridge, coffee pot, queen bed, bath robes and a washroom with everything you need. There is a fire pit and hammock close to cabin. The...More
The best feature of staying at The Swaying Spruce is that it gets you AWAY from the hordes of cruise ship passengers clogging the town. We stayed in the Columbine cabin, which was definitely on the small side, but fine for 3 of us (including...More
So glad we booked at the Swaying Spruce, not knowing anything about Skagway accommodations. It's peacefully tucked away into the forest but close enough to enjoy Skagway, especially with the provided bikes (the ride into town is easy and safe). Kendra and Jesse made us...More
In the hustle and bustle of Skagway it was nice to relax in our cabins in the trees. The cabins were clean and were equipped with all that we needed. The hosts helped us get checked in and were available when we had questions. All...More
One room cabin with a modern bath was very rustic, warm, and well maintained. The owners were great, picked us up from the airport, drove us to town when we were leaving, had bikes available to ride into town. Their dog and children were very...More

They are definitely legit. Kendra asked me to send a cheque or money order, but as I was coming from Australia and could not really work out how to get a cheque in $US she said it was OK for me to pay when I arrived, which I did in cash. They are just a really small family outfit in an out of the way place and haven't set themselves up in that business like way. But that doesn't stop the quality of the service or reduce the quality of the accomodation. It would be worth telling Kendra that having a credit facility would be to their benefit too as I am sure that not having it puts a few people off. If it isn't too hard for you to pay by cheque I urge you to do so. It is a great place and you won't regret it.
