We stayed at the Hotel Sorrento for one night this Thanksgiving weekend - what a wonderful experience! It was so cosy with the wood fireplaces, wooden paneling and festive decorations - perfect for a rainy Seattle weekend. The building is beautiful and the room far exceeded my expectations - it actually put me in mind of the Fairmont San Francisco's...

First of all--book directly with the hotel if you can. Got a nice upgraded suite for about the same as the price of a basic room from Hotels.com. It's a beautiful hotel that is a great break from the sterile Hiltons of the world. It's located in a very fun area with lots to do (bars, bookstores, coffee houses). Has...

We were so delighted with our wedding party suite, we stayed an additional night. Valet service, room service, checking in and out--all professional and pleasant people. Built in 1920s hotel has one tiny elevator but a fully equipped fitness room. Bed was huge Murphy bed, and the suite equally large. Cost seemed average, many cafes. Lounges, and restaurants within walking...

I like staying in non-chain, authentic, old hotels - so yes, as the other reviews say, there is a slightly dingy element to the property, but it is perfectly charming. It isn't sleek and new, it's lived in and warm. A few things, though. Although most of the staff were very friendly and helpful, I did encounter someone at the...

Cyasukot – thank you for your review! We’re so glad to hear that you feel that our hotel is overall charming and warm. Also, thank you also for the valuable feedback. I apologize for the confusion with the front desk and I’ve passed it the feedback along to our front office manager; we have some newer staff members, so we...

The property is in an excellent location, BUT... it's old and in need of updating, cleanliness is a 6 out of 10 (elevator tracks are caked with grime), the elevator itself is terrifying to ride in...small and "historic" I rode in it with other guests and we joked about surviving the ride. However, all is not lost. All of the...

Thank you for your delightful praise and candid critique. We take both to heart and truly appreciate the valuable feedback. We hear you loud and clear on the need for some updates and slowly (but surely) we are in the process of these upgrades. We are sorry to hear that the cleanliness wasn’t up to snuff and frankly, not up...

I am a SIFF member, and currently attending the Italian International Film Festival, ( a Festival within a Festival) and for the second year in a row, we had our Opening Night Party in the Penthouse, at "Top Of Sorrento" - It is an exceptionally wonderful venue, with an Open Terrace, and a View of much of Seattle. Inside has...

I stayed at Hotel Sorrento for 6 nights in September. I loved the character and charm of this hotel. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. It was 5-star service, particularly with the friendly doormen always assisting and welcoming guests. The lobby and fireplace room are so cozy and atmospheric. Loved the wine hour they put on each evening. Drinks...

The word “panache” is simply not used enough! We love it as a descriptive for the Sorrento! Thank you for all the lovely feedback, especially in regards to the service. Our team wants to relay how much they value our guests, and we are always happy when it shows. It sounds like you were able to enjoy the best of...

I've stayed at the Sorrento several times over the last twenty years. Each time it feels slightly less special and that is a shame. The redo of the restaurant several years ago feels cold compared to the rest of the hotel. They no longer have a car service to drop you into downtown, which was what made the location ok....

Thank you very much for communicating the issues you experienced while you stayed with us. Was in city for one night stay with our dogs. It was an impromptu trip. It didn't seem like a hotel I would recommend with dogs, but the staff did a lot to make us feel welcome. The hotel is classic but a bit aged. The room we were in was clean and well done, but the temperature control was...

Thank you for your review, and for recognizing the friendliness of our staff…they always do their utmost to be accommodating and friendly, and your comment is truly appreciated! Thank you also for the feedback on the heating. I have been staying at the Sorrento for years, and it is always a pleasure to return. The staff is friendly and efficient, and I like the old style touch of the place. I enjoy walking and and find it no problem to go to the downtown stores or waterfront restaurants on foot. Taxis are easy to find if needed....
