W Seattle garners mixed reviews with its central location often celebrated for its convenience to local attractions, despite some safety concerns. While the hotel's atmosphere and cool design generally earn praise, and the service is frequently described as friendly, guests have reported inconsistencies, especially with housekeeping and additional charges. The rooms offer a comfortable space according to some travelers, but cleanliness and noise are issues for others. Amenities are acknowledged positively, yet the value is questioned with regard to high prices and unexpected fees.

Lets start with the part that can make or break a stay, the staff. Our flight got in at around 1p and we were at the hotel no later than 1:30, the young man that checked us in was very helpful and was able to put us in a room that was ready. The young lady that was also working, was very delightful. Because of these 2 wonderful staff members we were probably able to save a few hundred dollars in Uber or Lyft fees. They gave us the best way to get around, where things were, etc. Very knowledgeable of the downtown area. Kudos!

The room was fantastic. Comfortable bed, nice sitting area, the essentials, but we had a corner room facing the water and although it was a gloomy weekend, it was a beautiful view. We tried the food at the hotel for one of the nights, the burger was ok, however, the fries were excellent. I mean some really good fries (weird I know).

The location is smack in the middle of downtown. We were near enough to the convention center that we walked every morning and evening, it was cold, but nice, no issues walking around either. On Friday night we walked to the Crocodile for a cover band show, and it was a pleasant walk there and back (even at midnight). There is a ton of shopping in the area and places to eat, so feel free to walk around and check it out. The front desk team recommended the monorail to get to the science center area and they were spot on, way better than catching an Uber and it was 14 bucks round trip for 2 people on a Kraken's game night.

We had a hiccup with parking, the hotel charged me a full day of onsite valet parking for a few minutes while I walked upstairs to get my bags and check out, unfortunately it wasn't until we were at the airport that I noticed the $68 charge. However, they were able to sort it all out at the end.

Awesome service, perfect location and great amenities, what else can I ask for?

If you are not from the Seattle area, please note that Seattle has fees for everything! So if you want to order takeout, be prepared to dish out and extra $10-12 for a service fee if you have a subscription to a meal delivery service and more if you don't. Lastly, 1 can of Pepsi from the minibar is $7 plus tax.

A very nice stay at the W. Great location to most attractions, but with most of the city it’s wise to be on your guard when wandering outside as the local “un-housed” population can be aggressive. The hotel staff was very friendly, helpful and accommodating throughout the stay. Amenities like in-room access to internet (with no extra cost) and the fitness room were better than expected. However parking was a bit pricey (but not out of step with the city). All in all a great stay.

All the staff, from the front desk to the restaurant were helpful, friendly and actively working as a team. I saw the food manager delivering food and filling water glasses to help out. Only thing wrong was the noise from the next room. We had a room with a connecting door, and I don’t know if that was the issue or if all rooms can hear the conversations next door - including the child that had to pee! (And no he wasn’t screaming).
The hotel was walking distance to many attractions and the $25 charged destination fee came with a $25 food credit and tickets to attractions.

The location of this hotel is ideal. It’s convenient to everything. The one and only pro about this hotel. Apart from that the hotel was disappointing in some aspects.

We were told that we were upgraded to a “spectacular view room” based on our loyalty status. The spectacular view was a view of the fairmont hotel blocking any and every possible “view” and left us looking at pigeons and a rusty looking balcony of that property.

The room was not as expected when we entered. The attention to cleanliness was not there. The first impression of a guest entering their hotel room should have a somewhat wow factor. The sheets were stained and the headboard had visible marks of something that was either spilled or a soda can that exploded.

The housekeeping staff however was great during our stay and left leaving the room looking visibly clean.

Valet parking is crazy expensive but there is a fairly reasonable and convenient parking garage right on the side. (On the side of a weird looking convenience store)

The property is outdated and could be better. When you think of W you think of a facility on a low key luxurious level. This was more of a Sheraton level W.

I would not care to stay here again. For a hotel on the pricier end compared to other hotels in the vicinity within the same service tier, it was nothing out of the ordinary.

How do we dislike this hotel? Let me count the ways. In no particular order: 1. During our three night stay our room was never cleaned. My sister's room was never cleaned but our friend's room was cleaned every day. 2. We had to request more toilet paper, Kleenex and coffee supplies. The toilet paper was thin, one-ply. 3. There were bottles of water for sale in the room but you could go to the front desk and get the exact same bottles for free. Why weren't we told at the outset? The W should also take all the expensive junk food for sale out of the rooms. If they want to put food in the rooms make it complimentary for everyone. 4. Last call in the pub downstairs was 11:30 on Saturday and 10 on Sunday. Seems early for an establishment in a big city especially when the hotel guests were hoping to enjoy a beverage. 5. The sidewalks outside the hotel are littered with cigarette butts. Very ugly. Couldn't some receptacles be placed on the building? We've stayed in a Marriott hotel in Hawaii and had a wonderful experience. The W in Seattle doesn't meet that standard.

A bit disappointing if you’re a regular W Hotel guest elsewhere. Hotel feels a bit old and tired, the lobby bar is dark and feels quite worn, as does the guest room.

The shower / bathtub in my room seemed partially clogged and didn’t drain well throughout the stay. And they don’t offer individually packaged toiletries (for environmental reasons which is understandable) but the large bottles they have are easy to open and tamper with (see photo). Really expect better at this price point.

Rooms have Nespresso machines and housekeeping was diligent about replacing things like coffee pods and towels every day, which is appreciated. And the front desk staff were overall pretty helpful and had some good recommendations for the area.

At an average of $100 more a night than the surrounding upscale hotels this experience was very disappointing. Given that I booked less than 24 hrs in advance and all room types were available I was surprised to be told at check in there were no upgrades available. I was even more surprised that very uncharacteristically the front desk did not thank or even acknowledge my lifetime titanium elite status, the main reason for choosing this hotel at higher price was my loyalty to the brand. Front desk staff was quite aloof for an upscale brand.
At $68 the valet is comparable, but most expensive in the area. No text or call service offered for valet.
The hotel did not have a concierge lounge and did not offer any amenity for status in the absence of.
The next morning at 8:50 am I went to get coffee in lobby, I was getting the last 1/2 cup in carafe. Very rude attendant came, I thought to switch carafe, but was told "you got the last cup, we stop coffee at 9:00." 9 am, on a Sunday?
Definitely would suggest one of the two Kimptons over the W if you find yourself in downtown Seattle. Very disappointing for a brand I spend over 120 nights a year in.

We showed up at 3:30 with check in at 4:00. We go into the lobby and there's a huge line to check in, so we wait our turn, and an hour later when we get to the desk they say they overbooked and the hotel we booked wasn't available so instead of 2 queens they offered either a king or to wait indefinitely for a room to open up. We booked our hotel room back in March! It's ridiculous that a company in downtown Seattle fumbled handling a busy weekend this hard. How are you going to overbook hotel rooms and then be shocked that everyone shows up at check in time to CHECK IN ??? The incidental hold they put on my card was $883 for ONE NIGHT. Which took up majority of my travel funds so I was left having to use credit cards to pay for things because majority of my money was taken up by just the incidental fee.

Once we got to our room our bed wasn't made properly, there's dirt on the carpets, there's scuffs on cabinets and walls, toilet paper is like gas station quality. And basically anything extra you need you have to pay for.

On their website valet parking is available for guests, but their parking garage was full when we arrived because of the overbooking, and from reading some of the reviews they let random people use it as well. We booked this hotel specifically because it had parking, as we are two young women traveling alone, but instead we had to park in a garage with "high prowl area" signs posted everywhere.

When I brought this up I was told it's first come first serve. Maybe put that on the website then instead of listing it as an accommodation for guests. Or maybe don't overbook your rooms???

When in our rooms we got food delivered without any utensils so we called to ask for some and we waited 30 minutes and no one ever showed up so we went downstairs to locate our own.

When we came back to our hotel after a long night at a concert, we noticed the bed wasn't made properly (see photo) and the sheets are hospital sheet quality. The tv offers on demand but nothing for free and there are hardly any local channels on live tv.

The allure of W hotels led me to experience the W Seattle during my recent trip. Check-in was smooth, and the service lived up to expectations. However, the room, though functional, revealed signs of aging that affected its overall appeal. Cleanliness fell short of the mark, a disappointing aspect of the stay.

Yet, what truly stood out was the unusual array of cards peppering the room. Each item seemed to have its own card, displaying a price or cautioning guests against certain actions—a unique and unexpected feature I'd never encountered in a hotel before.

While the service and check-in process were commendable, the room's age and cleanliness issues, coupled with the unusual presence of numerous cards, slightly dampened the otherwise anticipated W experience in Seattle.

$25 daily resort fee gets one pair of tickets for Seattle Ferris wheel and one pair of tickers for Seattle Art Museum - great if you were planning to do those otherwise feel obligated to get your money’s worth. Plus resort fee gets you a daily use it or lose it $25 stipend for the hotel’s bar and restaurant/snack-bar/coffee counter - but not full amount given automatic 15% tip. So does just one person use that stipend or do you spend even more on property to feed the rest of your party?

Platinum Elite gets you a daily $40 breakfast stipend at hotel’s restaurant/snack-bar/coffee counter, but not really given 15% automatic tip. In my opinion the menu is over priced for what it offers. For two, that breakfast stipend does not go far given the prices and portions.

Stay at the Marriott Renaissance 0.2 miles away instead. No resort fee, nicer rooms, larger lobby with more offerings, no stipend obligations and a fantastic lounge with food for Platinum Elite.

DearmichaellG6174YF, Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and concerns about your recent stay at W Seattle. We value all feedback as it helps us continually improve the guest experience. Regarding the resort fee, our intention is to enhance your stay by including curated experiences such as tickets to the Seattle Ferris Wheel and the Seattle Art Museum. We aim to provide value through these offerings, as they are popular attractions among our guests visiting Seattle. The $25 daily food and beverage credit is designed to give you the opportunity to enjoy our in-house dining options. The 15% gratuity is automatically applied as a convenience, ensuring seamless service during your visit. We understand that the stipend may not cover all dining expenses for larger parties, and I will pass on your feedback to our management team for review. We greatly appreciate our Platinum Elite members and strive to offer a breakfast experience that meets the elevated standards you expect. Your comments regarding the menu pricing and portions are valuable, and we will consider them as we continue to refine our offerings. While I respect your preference for the Marriott Renaissance, I hope we have the opportunity to welcome you back to W Seattle in the future. We are constantly looking for ways to enhance our guest experience, and your feedback is integral to that process. If you have any further concerns or would like to discuss your experience in more detail, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me directly.
