The Alexis Royal Sonesta Hotel Seattle earns rave reviews for its cleanliness and the elegance of its cozy ambiance, with guests consistently impressed by the well-maintained and stylish rooms. While its prime location is frequently praised for being close to top attractions and dining, some travelers are disappointed by the high valet costs and additional fees that detract from the hotel's value. The professional and warm service provided by the staff often makes stays memorable, although there are occasional service inconsistencies. Despite the lack of breakfast and room service, many guests find the amenities satisfactory, contributing to the hotel's charm.

We live locally and have been working ALOT of extra hours and when we are at home we are doing chores. So when mothers day weekend came we decided to find a nice hotel pack some games and face masks and have a family quarantine bonding weekend and this place could not have been better!!! From the moment I called asking a million questions about the rooms ( since we were going to be in the room the entire time we wanted to make sure it was roomy had a view and 2 tv's) Christine was amazing very patient and was even getting excited with us for our weekend. When we checked in Christine greeted us with great recommendations for food delivery and since they have a skeleton crew the man who played doorman/valet was very kind and helpful as well I believe that was Salvador who normally has other job at the hotel but is wearing many hats right now and he and Edwardo who are both doing pretty much everything other than front desk and cleaning, they were both very kind and polite and always had smiles on their faces regardless of how busy they were and how ridiculous our request was. Like the 3rd time we asked for it was always brought up quickly with a smile!! Evan was at the front desk as well during the day on Saturday and checked us out Sunday and again he was amazing!! I was trying to get my mom to join us and he was quickly getting me rates and finding her the beat room too and even though she did not come because of her cat I found out that you can bring your pets!! And its not just bring ur pets and that's it but they get their name on a board by some water bowls and treats too! So they get excited to welcome those parts of your family too!! I really can't say enough about the staff here!! I am now working with my mom to figure out a weekend we can take her down and put her in a spa suite so she can also take a break from quarantining at home and quarantine in style!! The hotel is very clean and everyone is wearing masks and gloves and have hand sanitizer available for everyone I really believe this place is the cleanest place you can be and I think everyone should try quarantining in style with these guys!! Thank you to the whole team for making our weekend AMAZING and memorable even though we never really left our suite! And I hope to see you soon!!

We stopped by the Alexis to reunite with family after not seeing them for a year. The staff was amazing! We made the initial reservation only for one night, but decided to extend to make a weekend out of it. I was having issues extending our reservation via the IHG app, so I called the hotel and they were quick to do so for me. Was also texted very early on the day of arrival by Christine who made sure we had all the supplies we needed for our puppy. When we got to the hotel everyone was so friendly, and the lobby was so clean! They had hand sanitizer everywhere and even had masks available if you needed. A special shout out to Benny who parked our car that night, Francisco who did everything from valeting our car to delivering items to our room and restoking the coffee bar he was amazing!!! Emina and her team did a wonderful job making sure our room was pristine. Also, Evan at the desk was super attentive and intuitive and made sure we were comfortable the entire. We are super thankful for the Alexis team and all of their efforts in making it a memorable experience during such a weird time for travel. We can’t wait to be back!

We traveled to Seattle for Mother's Day, and could not have chosen a better location for our lodging. The Alexis Hotel was a wonderful find. It is located near the water, and Pike Market. The hotel has that nice boutique feel. The staff was friendly and helpful, knew us by name when we would interact, shared with us how housekeeping needs should be requested (very smooth process), and even without restaurant service because of Covid, the location provides lots of dining options in close proximity. It was super quiet too. We will return!

HJolly - We are working hard to get the Bookstore back open and make it better than ever! I miss the Blackened Manhattens - once tasted, there is no going back. The team here has alot of fun and we are working hard to get things back to normal. Come back soon and look at the fantastic new Seattle Waterfront. Great views, and so much more.

Loved this hotel! Great location, clean and comfortable rooms and super dog friendly. They offer many amenities for humans and dogs alike, made this place feel really special. They offer coffee/tea in the mornings and a hot chocolate bar in the afternoon, complete with marshmallows and chocolate chips. And then in the early evening, a wine tasting with appetizers. Fabulous! For pets, they offer beds and bowls in your room, along with a branded amenity kit that is so cute! (Dog toy, food, ball, poop bags). And in the lobby they have this adorable sign that states the names of the dogs staying at the hotel along with water bowls and a treasure chest filled with dog goodies! I’m talking toys and cookies and chewies, anything your pup could want! On top of that, they don’t charge a pet fee! Honestly, I’m blown away by the care the hotel puts into ensuring ALL of their guests have a wonderful stay.

I was slightly miffed about the “internet fee” at first but if you’re an IHG member(free to join), it’s free. I’m not even sure if I am a member, to be honest.. but just putting my email in worked just fine and gave us free, high speed internet all weekend.

Thanks for another amazing stay, Kimpton Alexis! We will be back!

First of all, the hotel is currently not full service: their restaurant is not open because they lost their chef to COVID and there is no doorman or bell boy so you are on your own to get your luggage to your room. Maid service has to be specifically requested which is understandable. The staff informs us that they are short staffed which might explain the fact that even though masks are required, on two separate occasions, guests were seen in public areas, unmasked. One is so brazen as to sit in the lounge area, right around from reception, unmasked and reading on his phone. Also, perhaps because of the staff shortage, it took a couple of tries and several hours before we were able to arrange for a limo to drive us to the airport.

Pros: location. The hotel is close to the waterfront, restaurants and the Pike market place. The hotel room is spacious and clean.

Cons: the room is very dark even with the curtains drawn with dim lighting and dark furnishings. We were on the third floor and the traffic noise kept us up at night. There is no tea or coffee making equipment in the room and as we are tea drinkers we cannot partake in the coffee offered in the lounge. Lastly the bathroom seems somewhat dated- they still have rather musty smelling shower curtains. Also there are no rail guards so it is easy to slip and hurt yourself.

Thanks so much WML, appreciate the notes and commentary. Yes, these are challenging times, the mask mandates in the city, on again, off again, on again.. has us all a bit on edge. We request our guests wear masks when they are in public spaces and we do remind folks, however it is only a request and reminder. Look after yourself and always be aware - we do the best we can. The rooms don't actually have any shower curtains in them so perhaps you have us confused with another hotel? We renovated all the rooms in 2019 and they reflect the waterfront and colors of the PNW, which is one of the joys of living here. Our location - always top notch - the Alexis will be the gateway to the new Seattle Waterfront - come back soon and enjoy all that it offers! Tom W.

We searched every downtown hotel and chose the Alexis for its location primarily. We were pleasantly surprised and so happy with our choice. From the first call letting them know we had a late arrival, they were friendly and accommodating. The room was spacious and well appointed. The view was gorgeous outside the massive windows. We had a safe, closet, iron and ironing board, mini bar (things were in the refrigerator but you could still use it also), plenty of outlets for all electronics, a comfy couch and a chair, many lamps/lighting options, plentiful bathroom products, and a very comfortable bed. Housekeeping was attentive when requested and when the door hanger was placed outside. We returned each day to a clean room with the bed made, fresh towels, and a floor that had been swept and vacuumed. We attended a Mariners game and walked to the Stadium as well as spent time at Pike Place Market which was also an easy walk. The Piers with the Big Wheel and Washington State Ferries were only a couple blocks away and visible from the window. We used the electric bikes and scooters some, the monorail, and Uber was used to/from the airport. We did not visit the on-site bar/restaurant but it was open each day with patrons inside. Our stay at the Alexis made our trip to Seattle so pleasant and we wouldn’t hesitate to book here again.

Thanks so much Imdaniel (oh I get it) Appreciate the notes and suggestions for the next guests. The location of the hotel has always been a key part of our success for 118 years (yep that's right) With the construction over on the waterfront we will soon return to being the gateway to the new Seattle waterfront. The team here is a lot of fun and it shows every time they connect to a guest. Never hesitate to reach out to the fun General Manager - here to help. Enjoy. Tom.

The Alexis Hotel ambiance and her Stellar Staff made our elopement experience unforgettable.
From accommodations, planning, florals, complimentary champagne, and the sweetest officiant, everything was wonderful. My family loved the cleanliness and comfort of our suite, the husband took full advantage of the fitness center, and I loved how efficient the suite was to prepare for a wedding ceremony.
I can’t recommend this place enough to couples looking for a romantic getaway, an all-inclusive elopement, or a family getaway. Beautiful historic touches and comfy beds are just a few elements that make this hotel amazing!! Thank you for the impeccable service and wonderful welcome from start to finish. We will def be coming here for future stays.

The crazy times that we live in make everything a challenge but we work hard to figure it out and know how special these days are. Never hesitate to reach out for those anniversary stays or just a weekend get away. Some day we will have the Bookstore Bar and Cafe open and you can toast the day in style! Tom.

This is a nice hotel and the rooms work great but some of the outside services were lacking. There was no bell service to help with the luggage which is needed as you’re parking on a main street in Seattle to unload. The valet service was limited and if you valet park and choose not to hunt down a parking garage in downtown Seattle it costs you about $60 a day including taxes. if you want the room cleaned you need to hang a sign on your door by 2 AM the night before. We did this and Had a maid trying to walk in our room at 8 AM when we were still sleeping. Good thing we had the chain on the door. The rooms are quiet but the hallway noise was pretty loud. The front desk person and the valet person were very pleasant to deal with.

Thanks Krawl - glad you had a great stay, our valet guys are on duty 24 hours a day - but the lot is away down the road and they can be missing for a few minutes - sorry that you had to hunt them down. The parking is heavily taxed by the city and it can be a shock, but we are pretty much what you would find at most hotels and we are actually a better deal than most! Never hesitate if you need anything from housekeeping, they are only a call away. Come back soon. Tom W.

I've traveled extensively and stayed in various private and chain hotels. Generally they are good experiences but really nothing remarkable or memorable until The Alexis. I'm taking time to write this review because our stay at The Alexis was exceptionally wonderful. The staff were actually interested in our questions and needs. They went above and beyond to make sure we were served. The room was amazing. We booked a king suite. It felt like home. Beautifully appointed, CLEAN, and comfortable. Clearly the interior designer paid attention to details and cared about the results. The artwork throughout the hotel was very interesting and beautiful. They created a gallery-like experience. We were sad the Bookstore Cafe was closed due to COVID but we look forward to visiting it on our next trip. Parking was effortless. We were walking distance from everything we needed and wanted to see. Highly recommend this location for your next trip to Seattle. Awesome!

We are coming back to life from the dark days of the lockdown and cant wait to have the Bookstore open and serving up piles of mussels and clams! Your note made my day.
