We stayed for 3 nights at city hostel on our way down the west coast. It was in a fantastic location with a cinema and good communal area. The breakfast was basic toast and cereal/ tea but good considering the price. Showers were fine and...More
I thoroughly enjoyed my private ensuite room at City Hostel. I stayed in many hostels over the last forty years and chose this over the pricey hotel stays in Seattle. It cost about $130 night CDN but was worth it. Hotels run upwards of $300....More
This hostel had excellent facilities, kitchen with tea and coffee, movie room, courtyard and 2 lounge areas.

I stayed in a room with 4 beds (2 bunkbeds-not coed) but there was only 1 other girl with me. The bathroom (toilet and bathtub) was in the room (It had a locked door) but the sink was in the common area of the room. I would guess a private room (no one else) would have the same style but it would only be yours to use.
There was also shared showers and toilets along the main halls I suppose you could use those too.
