The Fairfield Inn and Suites Downtown is in a good location very near the Space Needle and Chihuly Gardens. The front desk people are lovely, the breakfast is good, and there’s app-operated laundry available on each floor. It misses being a five star experience for me because of the somewhat awkward configuration of the rooms: the king had huge amounts of unused space while the queen double was kinda crammed. There are some good restaurants nearby, but not much in the way of groceries. Overall, though, a fine hotel and a nice choice for visiting Seattle.

I decided to proceed with booking based on location alone. The view of the Space Needle from the room can’t be described as no words would be fitting. You won’t be disappointed if only a view is what you seek.

Sadly all other parts of my experience there were just meh. On-site parking has increased but has not been updated on their website. There aren’t any safes inside the rooms. I left my bag in the room like most guests do and I’m 100% sure housekeeping went through it. Although breakfast is served we weren’t able to enjoy it before heading out because other guests setup at the tables like they had nowhere to go so those tables were their second home. Employees aren’t to blame but how do you go about asking others guests to move so you can eat too? My final disappointment was the terrible coffee being offered at the hotel. As Seattle is known for coffee selection I had higher expectations.

Overall the experience wasn’t terrible but it wasn’t the best either considering the price point. This location gives me motel vibes.

I just left a short stay at this property and despite paying a premium price I was greeted with disinterested staff who was more concerned by what was happening on their cell phone than greeting guests. Don't expect daily housekeeping despite $300+ nightly room rates.

Room was clean and modern but I must have had a herd of elephants on their summer migration above me because that's the only explanation for the noise at 6am.

The morning breakfast offerings were dried out and and mostly inedible by 7:30 am and consisted of prepackaged breakfast sandwiches (which they unwrap and put in a chafing dish to dry out) and these jalapeno cheese souffles that get hard as a rock and are inedible.

Nice to have secure parking at a reasonable rate under ground. No explanation of why they lock one of the elevators as associates only especially when they aren't doing daily housekeeping.

I'll choose a different hotel in Seattle on my next trip. There was no value in this property.

Ridiculous pricing with taxes. Poor breakfast quiches every day. Bombed out /construction area surrounding hotel. Walk through homeless encampment to get to restaurant/Whole Foods. Spotty cleaning service and I do think they have some homeless vouchers going on so your paying $$$ for poor cleaning? So disappointed… I waited a month to post this… try someplace else and drive into the center city if you must.

We stayed her prior to going on a cruise. Convenient to the dock. Rooms were clean and well kept. They have a sign which reads rooms are only serviced every other day when a guest is staying over. In most hotels there is never enough light at the desk. This was a little better than normal. The only odd part was that the hallway and room carpet was not easy to move rolling luggage across. Free breakfast. The single serve plastic wrapped waffles were really good and they had oat milk in a separate carafe. Little quiches were nice as well. They have to keep the doors locked since the City of Seattle has a homeless problem That is the cities fault not the hotel's. The Space needle and armory or only a block or two away.

Stayed 4 days before and cruise to visit Seattle. This hotel is very centrally located to all attractions. Found the room clean, quiet, and comfortable. Check in was quick and on point. They are not doing room service daily unless you call before 10vto request it. We prefer this type of service during covid times to minimize our contact with others so it worked for use. We just asked at the front for anything we needed i.e. coffee pods, and it was ours. The lobby was a nice place for our group to gather on our down times. All in all it was a perfect stay.

I had reservation for 7/6 - 7/12. The guest services gentleman on duty, literally said 10 words to me. We got to our room and realized that the vanity is outside the bathroom. Hair in the sink, tub and behind bathroom door. Yuck! The bathroom had no ventilation either. Double Yuck!
I had an invoice from the hotel in my email that night charging me for 1 night 7/5 - 7/6. I went to the desk and spoke with a young lady who said I was being charged for a “no show” night and didn’t want to even talk to me about it and said to call the corporate office. I called the office the next day, and explained everything to Annette who apologized for the mix-up as she could see my original reservation. During the course of the week, I received additional bills via email as the kept braking down my stay every couple of days. I am home now and the charges were reversed. My original reservation was for $2,368.81 yet I was charged $2,380.83. Will be calling the hotel.
Although we had maid service every other day, our trash was never emptied and was overflowing by week’s end. The tub filled with water when showering so you are standing in 4 inches of water by the end of the shower. The walls seem very thin and there were several nights that you heard running and conversations in the halls good part of the night. I like a firm mattress so I thought the bed was very uncomfortable. Breakfast was pretty good and the line moved fairly quickly. I think the layout of the area could be done differently for better flow. Trash can near the door would be helpful. There were two near the buffet and when it was busy, guests had to fight the lines to throw the trash out.

Very convenient location for Seattle City Center and Lake Union and friendly front desk staff. Complementary Breakfast was good - eggs, waffles, yogurt, banana,ms, fruits and jams and good coffee. Got free waters and snacks upon checkin. That summarises the pluses.

Our room with two queen beds was weird. The bathroom was tiny and the sink was in the main room part. So you are brushing your teeth and doing your whole routine in the room.

The cleaning was sub par - the was a long black hair in the bath that wasn’t ours. The room is supposed to be cleaned every other day. We stayed for a few days and expected our room to be cleaned per they policy. Didn’t happen.

On checkout day, housekeeping showed up at 9am to let us know it’s our last day. That’s a pet peeve. Check out is in a few hours, I know it’s the last day, don’t bother me.

Flew out to work on a govt job and booked hotel through my Bonvoy account that tracks the MANY MANY nights I have stayed with this brand enough to earn myself a "coveted" status. It doesn't matter what my status says, but just to illustrate, I have used this brand for awhile.

When Bonvoy sends you a confirmation to your email it will show the following details....

Welcome To Bonvoy
Confirmation #
Number of days staying
Total Amount

A block of about 6 or so ADs, that you'd have to scroll past.

Then at the bottom of the email, they list out WHAT days the govt rate is applicable. Not at the top when they summarize the stay, not as an immediate footnote within proximity of the original summary. Not intuitive at all. Shame on you Marriott Bonvoy.

if you cared about your customer, you wouldn't use deceitful marketing practices.

So yes, they do let you know in a sketchy way, but not during the booking when it matters so permission can be requested to exceed the allowed rate and spend taxpayer money.

A+ for deceitful
D- for execution

Nice location and clean hotel. Only two small complaints:
1. Toilet paper holder in room 519 was ridiculously located in such a way that one had to reach behind to get it and then it would not spin smoothly. Anyone with a mobility issue would find this very challenging.
2. Only one morning out of 4 did we ask for housekeeping. We needed towels. We were out from 7:30-1:45 and our room had not been touched. That was frustrating.

If you are looking for proximity to Space Needle and other attractions, it was very convenient.
