The front desk employees were polite and accommodating but none smiled except a cheerful friendly slender young woman who was there late at night around 10:30 pm, and a middle-aged man who was there mornings. The breakfast ladies were nice and worked quite hard to make sure everything was kept clean and food items were replenished quickly. It’s a cold breakfast buffet, but it is substantial and has a good variety of items. It includes plain unflavored hardboiled eggs and instant oatmeal. Fortunately they stock regular oatmeal without added sugar, so healthy choices are possible. There’s a self-service waffle maker, boxes of cold cereal, fresh fruit, individual packets of hard cheese, yogurt (but only the kind with sugar, and they should stock the kind that is without sugar), peanut butter, three types of sliced bread, black and green tea. The interior rooms we had were clean, comfortable, and quiet. The building is charming and perhaps dates from the late 1800s, so there are armoires and other furniture which fits the style of that period. Individual safe in each room. However, some things were surprising because this is a Best Western Plus. First, a large painting above the bed was not securely fixed to the wall; it was just hanging from two hooks, and would easily have fallen on our heads in an earthquake. Second, there are absolutely no grab bars in the shower in two different rooms where we stayed. A rubber mat is provided. Mini-fridge available on request. The communal microwave is kept behind the front desk, which is quite inconvenient. They should move it elsewhere, for example into the large business center room, so guests don’t have to wait in line to use it. Very close to the ferry docks, the International District. In that respect, it's a great location. However, the neighborhood is sketchy so best to be careful after dark.

Mitchell was very helpful in checking us in. We appreciate his help with our gift cards. We also appreciate the free room upgrade to a king bed and parking the car in advance of our check-in.
The hotel interior has a nice old fashion historical look. The rooms are very spacious. I like the comforter design on the bed. The walls are thick where we couldn't hear our neighbors. Just to note that the room doesn't have a refrigerator.
The breakfast is the typical Best Western breakfast without the fresh scrambled eggs. I like how the hotel has a choice between almond and soy milk.
We plan to stay at this hotel again in our next visits to Seattle for tourism or Mariners games.

There's a metro station "Pioneer Square Station", less than 15 mins on foot, where one can go to airport at a few dollars (fare for taxi alternatively is around USD 50! )
I love the decor and vibe of the interior. Beautiful elegant and nostalgic. Staff helpful and nice.
About the room, mine is an economic one-bed room and it's functional. Quite small but it's ok for me. Cleanliness ok. Price good too.
But there's one thing I don't like which makes me not recommend this hotel (or other types of rooms are better? I don't know). The air conditioner/ heater is at the level of the bed with quite some noise, so I felt so irritated when sleeping as it blew straight to my body and face. I finally turned it off but this however made me rather cold at night. Not comfortable overall. I stayed for 2 nights then switched to another hotel.
Breakfast limited. I didn't expect much though.
The building is a classic older brick building with all the modern amenities you could ask for including a continental breakfast.
My room was very nice and comfortable and very quiet for a hotel in the middle of a big city. The best part of the hotel is the staff, they were very helpful and friendly.
"Extremely well located. the "Continental breakfast is more than adequate. Friendly and helpful staff."Read full review
"Understand this is an older hotel in the downtown area. There are quite a few sketchy characters out and about at night."Read full review
