I can highly recommend this bed and breakfast. My friend and I went on our motorbikes for a weekend break. We had a very nice welcome which was very nice after a long journey . The location of this place is amazing , not only visually but also historically . There is so much information in every room of this... More

This setting is beyond exceptional for location, comfort, historical artifacts with stories, and the hosts are lovely and attentive. The peaceful waterway graces the property, with seasonal song birds and plenty of countryside to explore and research. Each historic battle and military missions are found in true words from the various military branches that asked their men and women to... More

Rodolphe and Vivian provided a comfortable, warm experience. Breakfasts were imaginative and tasty. Surroundings, in the Normandy countryside, were peaceful, beautiful and historically significant. I would recommend it! I would return.

We discovered this B&B in September of 2015 when our tour group stopped here for brunch. We fell in love with it and wanted to stay here on our next visit to Normandy. We were so fortunate that they had the availability to accommodate us this past September. It was everything we dreamed it would be and more. Vivian and... More

I found b&b a la Bataille de la Fière on google and fortunately for my friend and I there was a twin room vacant at the last minute. I could never of imagined what we were going into as it is an airborne enthusiasts dream. Vivian and rodolphe were so friendly and welcoming for us to stay at their home,... More

This was my first visit to the LaFiere B&B. Vivian and Rodolphe were really informative, helpful and Vivian's delicious breakfast were a welcome start to each day. The rooms are clean, well-equipped and really great for resting after days visiting the D-day sites. It is strategically located at the edge of the historical LaFiere Bridge and Causeway battle shortly after... More

This is my 4th or 5th visit to Vivian and Rodolph's B&B. As always, they have been extraordinarily helpful and gracious. La Fiere is something of a World War II boutique B&B that will be appreciated by history buffs, especially those interested in airborne operations in Normandy in June 1944. The rooms are clean and well-equipped, and VIvian's breakfast is... More

I made a reservation last minute for a short trip to Normandy. Despite having a minimum two-night policy, Vivian kindly made an exception - and we were so lucky that she did. When we arrived, Rodolphe was able to find us a dinner reservation at a fantastic restaurant in the area. The rooms were clean and orderly. Breakfast in the... More

Vivian and Rodolphe are the best B&B hosts ever. This place is at the center of Airborne History and these guys are the best caretakers the airborne community could ask for. You're at La Fiere Bridge, and I mean at the bridge. Those who know there airborne history know this was a/the center of gravity for airborne forces during the... More

Trip Advisor : This review was submitted to you six days ago and is just now appearing on our page. Therefore, I assume that it was further reviewed for acceptability. However, this review is pure harassment. This person assumed that we operate like other French B&Bs. We do not take bookings at the door, nor by telephone. All of this is stated on our website and at our mailbox at the street. We do not welcome nor accept anyone on our property without prior authorization by phone or e-mail. No one at the door by foot or car. We do not invite strangers inside nor do we enter into conversations with them outside. This person had no authority to be here and was trespassing. So why would we be welcoming?

Our property is posted as “Private Property”. We only accept authorized guests. Due to our rising popularity and 70th Anniversary of D-Day, we have had many trespassing instances this summer. We are now in the process to have a private gate and fence installed at the entrance. The construction is pending approval of a permit as water and electric lines are buried in the passage. There are two postings indicating that this is private property, one at the passage and one on the house at the front door. All visible from the street. We have done all that our local authorities have suggested (Mayor and Gendarme). They are very familiar with our problems of trespassers as well as similar problems of others in our community. There have been instances of breaking and entering and destruction of property (day and night). So we are all vigilant. Strangers who ignore postings of “Private Property” are the violators, not us.

Yes, I can and will make a management response, if necessary. However, why should we suffer a bad review resulting in a diving rating affecting our good standing? Please do not let this happen. If you do let this review stand, you set a precedent for others to do the same. You already assisted us to take down a previous similar incident. We thank you for that. Now, we need your help again. This reviewer was breaking the law. This reviewer walked off and called my husband a Nazi.

Your loyal business clients, Rodolphe and Vivian ROGER
