An older hotel with limited facilities and high prices. Not particularly close to town. Good convenience store nearby, Good dining room and small bar area that sometimes has live music. Nothing to make you rush back there unfortunately.
Excellent location where I have stayed many times previously. Noticeable downturn in quality. Drunks and cursing fights in halls ruined two night stay. Clientele has changed. Facilities show it, beds need replacement, no small touches as in the past. Heating not sufficient to warm room. Paid a fee to check in an hour early. May be unsafe judging by the arrest at main entrance of an inebriated guest. Sad to see a once pleasant place in decline. Will not stay here again. The management has decided to fill space with Beneficiaries of government programs. I understand the need to make the money to pay bills, costs, etc but this decision will drive away established clientele and casual travelers.
We booked this hotel in downtown Anchorage through Booking.com for our first night in AK. The rooms were roomy and clean. That being said, the rooms themselves as well as furnishings seemed dated-like a 1970-80 converted apartment or condominium building. The living and kitchen areas of the suite were very roomy. The bedroom was reasonably sized. The bathroom was minuscule. Because of its age, it had fewer electrical outlets than most other hotels. If-like us-you have cell phones, iPad, etc. you’ll be hunting outlets. Although we didn’t eat there, we noticed there was a bar/restaurant with service from breakfast through dinner.
Charged for cigarette butt left in the room mind you nobody smoked in the room. To my suprise they have that exact clause in their smoking policy.. ridiculous but ok I signed on the line I'll pay... they charged my account 250 (which it didnt have) but for some reason on 72 was taken from my account... I went to the front and payed cash 250 for my smoking fee.. it's now almost been a month.. after several calls to speak with managers and account managers leaving messages. No calls returned now the mailbox is full. Fed up and extremely frustrated by the whole experience. Will never stay here again. You're better off sleeping on the ground in the rain than the bs they put you through

WE left on our cruise from Seward which is about 2 1/2 to 3 hours by car or 4 hours in the train. If travelling by train to your port ,you wont need a taxi as Inlet Towers provide a shuttle bus to the railway station. Might I add that the train trip down to Seward was one of the most spectacular train trips we have every done, Highly recommended.
