There are group rooms and dorm-like bathrooms for big groups in the main lodge...hunters or family reunions come to mind. The "hotel" part is in a separate building. The rooms are spartan with cinder-block walls but they are spotlessly clean. There is a queen bed, a single bed, a generously sized mini-fridge and freezer and microwave. No TV, phone or...

We enjoyed our stay at Winema Lodge on a birdwatching trip to the Klamath Basin Wildlife Refuges. The motel rooms face east so we opened the blinds at night to catch the first morning rays. Going outside at night was treat - virtually no lights to interfere with stargazing and the constant sounds of the waterfowl roosting below us. We...

Winema Lodge is right on Tule Lake, a great place for bird watching. When we arrived several women were sitting outside their room watching birds with their binoculars. So, if you are coming to bird watch, this is a great location, very close to wonderful Tule Lake, where thousands of birds nest for the winter months, and pass through in...

Our track team has stayed here for years and we love it! From being able to explore up on the hill and driving down to the lava tubes to the wonderful home cooked breakfast, the kids are amazed. We hate to give away the secret to our success, but staying here the night before out meet leads to peaceful relaxation...

My friend and I were in Tulelake on a photo safari; what an amazing place! We stayed two nights at the Winema Lodge, enjoying it very much. Our motel room was warm and clean, with plenty of good towels and hot water. A fine and serviceable room in an area where you'll be spending most of your time out of...

If you want to stay somewhere that feels like home this is it. The room was was basic but spacious and immaculatley clean. As well as breakfast, Verna was kind enough to provide evening meals which if you like home cooking as we do made a very pleasant change from restaurant fare, the lady can certainly cook. We would have...

We stayed two nights, and found the rooms to be simple, but clean and comfortable. The hosts are really nice and generous. In addition to the basic included breakfast, we also got two pack lunches so we could explore Lava Beds all day. The sandwich was good, and we enjoyed the goodies packed with it. If we come back to...

A friend and I stayed at the Winema Lodge due to it's location and that they accepted dogs. We were doing a 6 day road trip up through Northern CA, Southern Oregon and back down the coast. The Winema lodge was a perfect stop after visiting Mt Shasta and Lava Beds National Monument. Yes, it is a hunting lodge. There...

Very nice lodge owners. The motel rooms were basic, but clean and comfy. The main lodge is great for sitting and chatting with others, Lava Beds National Monument was an close easy drive.

This place definitely has a hunting lodge feel to it, so if you are scared of/angered by dead animals all over walls, I wouldn't stay here. Personally, I thought it was interesting, and the service is SO friendly! The couple that runs the lodge are great, and the breakfast is delicious! The jam is amazing - you HAVE to eat...
