What a surprise to find such a great hotel away from the larger city of Reykjavik. The hotel was very clean, had a great breakfast buffet, and also free Internet service. The shower is very small, but adequate. Be careful to test the HOT WATER prior to getting into the shower. Typical of Iceland, they have HOT WATER. This place...

This is a nice clean hotel. It has a decent breakfast buffet and good dinners. The rooms are typical but the shower is rather small. There is a golf course but it was very windy the day we stayed here. I asked the hotel manager if we could go out and putt and he gave us putters and golf balls...

We stopped here for the night after landing at Keflavik on the way clockwise round road 1. It was quite an easy drive after landing at 18:00 in the evening. I'm glad we had GPS with coordinates, otherwise it could have been hard to find in the dark. The hotel was very clean and all seemed quite new. The staff...

Stayed on 13 and 14 feb 2016. Homely and cosy hotel. Clean rooms. Good spread at breakfast. Hot tubs in winter and far from city, good for northern light sightings. It appeared on 14 feb on the 2nd night of my stay.

My wife and I stayed here as we were touring Iceland and we weren't disappointed with the Hamar! Easy quick check in and lovely friendly staff. Most hotels are eco friendly in Iceland due to the natural geothermal power used and Hamar was no exception. We stayed in room 144 which was perfect and very modern. The shower was amazing...

The hotel isn't super fancy but it is nice and clean. The views from the back of the property are beautiful. The rooms are well appointed, clean, and the beds are warm and comfy. The staff at check in and the nice gentleman that worked over night were fantastic! He went outside every 15 min to check for northern lights...

Hotel has refreshing outlook, happy to see everything still so new. Staff always willing to help. Room service was excellent- not only basic bedding and stuff, but also shuffling the snow outside. Highly attended to details. One small point is the location is a bit off from centre, but its still good as the view and environment is really nice...

This hotel is located at a golf course, which in November, was not a positive! However, the service, ambiance and breakfast made up for its location. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful and the breakfast (complete with a shot of cod liver oil) was amazing! I enjoyed eating while the sun came up - delightful!

What an amazing hotel! Perfect stop on your roadtrip around Iceland. The hotel is very spacious, with beautiful scenery and views. The hottubs outside have the best views for sure! The restaurant in the hotel has very delicious fresh foods and many beverages. Wifi is good. Rooms are spacious and nice. Highly recommend.

Very easy to find, 10 min outside from Borgarnes with the car. Staff very friendly on arrival, we haven't tried the restaurant, but the menu looked nice even though they had only a few dishes. Our room was clean, beds comfortable. In our room we didn't have any cupboards (only a few shelves to store items) which might be an...
