I have to admit the exterior of this hotel gave me pause...a LOT of pause. But I was only there for one night & the rate was cheap so I decided to man up and check-in. I was pleasantly surprised opening the door to my room. It looked recently remodeled, good carpeting, comfortable queen size bed, and good furnishings. Two...

Used to ALWAYS stay at Mansion View in Springfield,IL and always loved it. Sure,it was kind of dumpy and had obviously seen better days, but the staff was so kind & helpful,we felt like it was our home away from home. We were willing to overlook the average conditions, just because they were so nice.Price was good too. Well, the management changed &...

Located across the street from the Governor's Mansion and within walking distance of the Amtrak station, all Springfield bus lines, Capitol complex, the state library, the Lincoln Library and Museum, all downtown antique shops, and Springfield's best downtown restaurants. I stayed here solo on multiple occasions and twice with my spouse. Never had a bad room or bad stay. The...

Great location for the museums and all other venues. Was the right price. However, it took 15 minutes to get hot water to the shower.... inadequate lighting only two low table lamps...reception staff varied from helpful and efficient to slovenly with an attitude. Carpet worn and soiled...windows not clean... sheets torn and threadbare... continental breakfast inadequate.... old large box TV...

Located downtown near the old and new state capitol buildings. Walking distance to almost all major Lincoln attractions. Although a bit dated property, great price for the location. Really enjoyed the stay, night clerk very helpful with directions and advice. Will stay there again if we get back to see the rest of the Lincoln historical attractions. Keep in mind...

General exterior disrepair, repairs obviously amateurish. Chipping, peeling paint exterior. Room was clean, pillows a foot thick without any crush = sore neck. Whatever you do, don't take them up on the offer to not change sheets every day to save energy and preserve the environment, or you will get your bathmat taken and not replaced, no soap or shampoo...

I booked the hotel through Travelocity but had to cancel the reservation almost a month in advance. I received confirmation through Travelocity that the room was cancelled within the guidelines, meaning there were to be no charges. The hotel was cancelled on Aug 4, 2014 for a stay that was supposed to happen Aug 29, 2014. I received my credit...

It is out dated. Smells like mold damage. Lighting was poor. Carpet old dirty. Peeling paint in bathroom. Toilet ran all night on and off. Too close to train. towels were not all clean. Would not have stay also warned about some kind of biker thing going on. Love motorcycles, but we were looking for quiet place, not noisy. Over...

The room was a decent size and I had thought the staff was pleasant. But there was no available WIFI, the room cleanliness was terrible, and the bathroom was dirty. Lastly, we accidentally left my child's kindle when we checked out and came back immediately only to find someone had stolen it. But seeing as the only people that had...

We had a great time in Springfield. The hotel needs some work but it was bearable. It was part of a family road trip so we were only there to sleep. I hope the owership will redo the rooms because it is a gret location.
