Nice hotel. Only problem I had was the fitted sheets don't stay on the mattress, each day woke up in a wrinkled mess. Hotel was clean, nice staff, great location. Stayed on the 7th floor, no problem with noise.

We stayed for 3 days while seeing the Lincoln sites. We walked to most everything. The hot breakfast added to the value. Good variety of hot & cold items. Staff kept tables clean & ready for the next guests. Plenty of space in room.

We stayed at the State House Inn for one night in October 2012, and we loved it. We were traveling with another couple, and had rooms on the 3rd floor. The hotel was VERY quiet...we did hear the train whistle a few times, but it wasn't enough to be a problem. Our friends in Room 300 were awakened by two... More

We spent 2 nights at this hotel based on some reviews on TripAdvisor. There were 2 weddings booked in the hotel and the only room available was an accessible room. Sink in bathroom did not have anywhere to place wash bags except on a trolley behind you. I found the noise of the numerous trains going through town and sounding... More

The hotel was wonderful for the money. It was located within walking distance of the Lincoln sites. The tomb was around a mile away and we did take the car but it could be walked easily. The breakfast was good with a choice of hot food, sausage, bacon and eggs, waffles. It also offered fruit, cereal, the usual assortments of... More

We travel quite a bit and I would only call this average. So if this is #1, the other accomodations in town must be quite lacking. On the positive side, the attitude of their employees was wonderful. And if you are there to see Lincoln sites, as we were, with the exception of his tomb, they are all in walking... More

When I see reviews like this one, after 10 years of watching the reviews come in, I have a theory about what generates this kind of feedback. Unfortunately since I can't see the guest's name I can't look up their reservation to see what kind of rate they paid or how long they were with us but they did say... More

If you're in Springfield to go to the Lincoln Museum and Library and other Lincoln sites, this is a good hotel to stay, park, and walk the historic area. If you have a car, parking is expensive and a problem in this area. It was super for that. However, the hotel is a little over-rated. The room was small, and... More

Diane My co-worker and I stay here twice a year for business. The front desk staff are friendly and personable but professional. Nice decor, very comfortable beds, clean, quiet rooms. Great breakfast included - eggs, breakfast meats, waffles, fruit, choice of breads, yogurt, cereal and juices. We will continue to stay here.

It is close to all the Lincoln sites downtown. Take public transportation to the cemetery. The hotel is very clean and they have a good breakfast. They do need to upgrade the TV's to flat screens. We would stay again.

Nicely remodeled older hotel with clean comfortable rooms, coffee and a good hot breakfast furnished. Very friendly, cheerful, and helpful staff. Location is ideal for visiting all of the Lincoln sites and museum as they are all located within walking distance from the hotel. I would definitely stay here again.

The State House Inn is the only major hotel in downtown Springfield, Illinois to offer a complimentary full hot breakfast, super fast hotel wide WiFi and parking. The combined value of these complimentary goods/services make us, by far, the best value in Springfield.
