We had paid for bed and breakfast but because we were leaving at 3.45a.m. not even a yoghurt could be provided. We were woken by phone at 11,30 with a demand that we come and settle our bill. we were dead asleep because we were getting up early and they knew that. I could not then go back to sleep....

Dear DorothyLindaSmith, Thank you for your review. We are very sorry to hear of your experience. I have tried to investigate this matter as I can not find any reason why you should have been awaken at 23:30 to ask you to settle your account. This is simply mistake on our behalf as this should never been the case. We...

Booked 3 nights here after seeing the positive reviews. Yes, it's really close to blue lagoon, but in Dec, it's not walkable. Yes, it's far away from city and possibly a good place to catch the lights, but it's not very accessible and nothing much to do around here. As for the lights, still waiting for the clouds and rain...

Dear 249kelvinw, Many thanks for your review. You are right we are in a middle of a lava field and there are 5 km to the nearest village and 45 km to Reykjavik city. There are quite many excursions and activity you can book and have pick-up/drop-off service to our hotel, and the best way to arrange this service is...

We are currently spending our last night of 4 at the Northern Lights Inn, the hotel is like a home away from home, it is very cosy and homely, the honesty bar is a great touch, there are snacks and drinks that you help yourself to and write down your room number and it's charged to your room, the games...

The Northern Light is just 1 km from the Blue Lagoon and 15 or so from the KEF airport. The prices seemed high for such a place at first, but free transportation is included to/from both of these locations. The family and staff were very pleasant and helpful. The big surprise was the excellent food in Max's Restaurant (in the...

Very dramatic. The inn was accommodating in every way. They picked us up at the Blue Lagoon and drove us to the airport the next day. We ate "Sunday Roast" there which was reasonable and delicious. We saw the Northern Lights. They have a great viewing area. The honor cognac bar was a very nice touch as was the beautiful...

Arrived expecting this to be in middle of nowhere and in beautiful landscape but it is next to a huuuuuuge power station! Huge! Bright lights all night! The restaurant looks out on to it! Apparently the power station is the reason for the Blue Lagoon but, still, so weird!

Dear wilster33, many thanks for your review. We try our best to inform our guests of our location by showing lot of pictures on our website. You are right, we are next to a Geothermal Power Station. It was built in 1975 and from the operation of the Geothermal Power Station the world famous Blue Lagoon emerged. Our hotel was...

My friend and I stayed here on our last night in Iceland before heading home and I'm so glad we did! From checking in to being dropped off at the airport, nothing was too much trouble! Staff are friendly and want to know about you/your trip rather than shove you in a room and just see you at check out!...

I stayed here for one night during my recent trip to Iceland, but I wish I had been able to stay longer. On our way to Scotland to visit our daughter in grad school we decided to spend two nights in Iceland in hopes of seeing the Northern Lights.
