Hidden gem of a place. clean rooms. Polite and helpful staff. Coffee and tea available from the restaurant if you want. otherwise the rooms are just basic. but the sheets and the bathroom are clean and a good size. Free breakfast provided. although it's cold food (cold cuts of meat and salad, fruits and bread and cereal) it's very good...

Very basic guesthouse, booked a double room but received a twin, i asked if they could move the beds together but when we got back at 2300 after a long day the beds were still as a twin. Then came the shower, a non existent trickle of water which was look-warm, the in-room Wifi was non existent, i had to...

Guesthouse Drangshild was, surprisingly, among the hi-lights of our nearly two week trip to Iceland (and we had a great time in Iceland!). The accommodations are basic but nice. Clean, modern-ish, comfortable - perfectly functional. But the dining was anything but. What a surprise. We were two couples for dinner and the food was simply outstanding with enthusiastic and friendly...

It's listed as part of Hvolsvöllur but should be listed in Skogar. It's just 1 km down the road from there. It's a relatively small but nice guesthouse/hotel immediately on highway 1. No big signs on the road and more importantly, none of the big touring buses with huge loads of tourists. Room and bathroom are spacious and clean (we...

This was a very basic budget style hotel. Our accommodations were in a new wing behind the main hotel. The rooms were very basic, with 4 twin beds. The wifi was almost non existent. There were a few flies in our room and bathroom, which we could get rid of and was very annoying! The food was average, we might...

Nice guesthouse set in gorgeous scenery on the ring road. Rooms are fairly plain and simple but perfectly serviceable for a good night's sleep. Meals are lovely and very convenient in that rather remote area to have an evening meal available. Breakfast was a simple but quite adequate buffet. Not only convenient to Skogarfoss but also some great turf roof...

We stayed here to hike Skogarfoss. They are exceptionally friendly and the rooms are nice. We were surprised by the quality of the restaurant. The food was among the best we have had in Iceland! We had soup for lunch, which was very good. The dinner was fish of day and a vegetarian dish - both were fantastic! The rhubarb...

Our family of 4 (two young adult/older teens, 2 adults) stayed here June 2016. Delightful stay. Staff was exceptionally and genuinely warm and friendly. I felt more comfortable asking questions there than anywhere we've stayed. Family room was larger enough for us to be comfortable (we usually get 2doubles.) Dinner was exceptional!! And we are foodies from San Francisco and...

Just before the Skogafoss, next to the Route 1 (left side, when you are driving anticlockwise). When we arrived (some minutes before 8 pm), nobody was at the reception, but in one minute we found a lady in the kitchen and she called the receptionist. The room was newly designed, big enough, with enough space also for our big suitcase....

This guesthouse has simple but comfortable and clean rooms. The location is very good: right between Skogafoss and Seljalandsfoss. The breakfast was quite standard but ok.The guesthouse lacks atmosphere but overall provides good value for money.
