Only stayed one night and were told by our guide that we had the upgraded rooms, otherwise we would've had shared bathrooms. The upgraded rooms were clean, comfortable and well equipped. Staff were friendly and welcoming. As with everywhere in Iceland, everything was eye wateringly expensive and the veggie option for dinner was poor but all in all a very...

Beautiful surroundings. Rooms were big with nice bathroom. Everything was clean. When we asked the kitchen to use their microwave, they kindly heated up our food. Breakfast was wonderful. There were horses and farm animals around in a big farm. Would stay here again.

This hotel, guesthouse, campsite and cabins is in a beautiful location on a farm. The restaurant serves delicious local produce and the free sauna and hot tub is a great addition. Internet connection as a free wi-fi is as good as one would anticipate it to be in the countryside - it works :)

I stayed at their guesthouse - they have a hotel as well - and ate a typical Icelandic breakfast (cold cuts, bread, cheese, skyr, granola, fruit). Really nice place about 13 km from Road 1. Very quiet and relaxing. Apparently, you can get a great view of the aurora borealis during the winter here. Anyway, the room was extremely comfortable,...

This was certainly among our top 2 campsites in South Iceland. The guesthouse kitchen, hot showers, hot tub (!) and grill area all made for a top notch camping experience. The owners were incredibly nice and welcoming and the breakfast was wonderful. We were traveling alone as a couple, but this would have been a great little spot for kids...

Stayed at the campsite for one night, and I was very happy with the choice. All sorts of farm animals which were very fun, and also the friendliest cat I have ever met. I'm pretty sure that cat is my soulmate. Staff was awesome and very helpful, and the hot tub was really nice.

Had a good time at Smaratun. The staff is very friendly and very courteous. I stayed in the Chalet and it was small but perfect for what I needed. You have a full size bed and a bunk bed in the room as well as a desk. The space was more than enough for me. The food here was actually...

I stayed here for one night as part of an organised tour. I thought it was great. I would definitely recommend the horse riding - you get to ride through streams and over farmland in the shadow of the beautiful Eyjafjallajokull volcano (yes, the one that erupted in 2010). The breakfast buffet was delicious, I'd recommend the homemade skyr in...

We stayed for 2 nights at the Smaratun farm guesthouse. Be aware that several lodging formulas are available at Smaratun (be sure to check their website before booking): - the hotel: about 15 rooms in the main building - quite expensive for the small rooms you'll get but they have en-suite bathroom. Breakfast is included. Wifi is included (rather poor...

We just slept there one night, in the cottage. Our cottage was small, but clean, warm, just the lockers were a little bit difficult to handle. There is a guest kitchen. Breakfast was self-service and very good.
