An average country hotel I travel a lot in Iceland and stay at many Hotels this is an average, but if you are in for haunted pleases then this is the hotel to stay. I have not had a quiet sleep there, and I am serious

This hotel is the oldest in Iceland and is brimming with character. It's cozy and interesting and has a wonderful hot pot where you can watch the Northern Lights. The staff were super friendly, it was a treat all around!

The previous reviewers were very accurate. This is a beautiful place. Loads of history. We stayed in the attic rooms on the top floor. They were huge with two beds. We did have to lug our luggage up the steep stairs but that was ok. We unpacked everything and re-packed for the rest of our Iceland trip so the large...

Charming hotel, old, creaky and apparently haunted. The rooms are exactly what you would expect from this hotel, rustic but clean – there is a modern annexe if you prefer. We were staying in very contemporary hotels throughout our trip so thought it would be nice to stay somewhere with history. It didn't disappoint. We did hear the other guests...

The Tindastoll is categorised vaguely as a “boutique” hotel but that in itself is hardly justification for prices which are rather too high for what is on offer. The decor makes an effort at being charming but only partially succeeds; the ambiance aims at being cosy and snug but again, does not quite make it. Had the weather been kind...

This place is so rich in history you can taste it. On arrival we had a very warm greeting, assigned a great room lined with wood, dinner recommendations was fantastic, sleep was superb and breakfast was stellar. Highly recommend for a stop along the ring road

We stayed in the Annex part of the building. The rooms are quite small but well appointed and very comfortable. There's even a natural hot pool in the courtyard. However, it's the staff that earned my 5 star rating. We were travelling with a friend who had broken her leg. We called ahead to ensure we could have a ground...

Old wooden building in very unromantic Saudarkrokur, squeaking wooden floors, rather small rooms and no restaurant. BUT friendly staff, wonderful Bar/Breakfast room in the basement...and hardly any alternative in this creepy town.

We stayed here for 1 night before our trip with Viking Rafting, and were glad to have chosen this place. Two great little restaurants in town, and a wonderful bakery. We stayed in the Annex to the hotel and were served a lovely complimentary breakfast. It was a wonderful display of fresh fruits, yogurt, cereals, hard boiled eggs, salmon, etc....

One night here in this slightly down at heel town. We had two rooms (one double one twin) in the annexe to the main hotel, which is a separate building next door. Bright, clean with IKEA inspired bedrooms. Our double room was a good size and en suite as was the twin room. This is in some contrast to the...
