The hotel is in the middle of nowhere. Scenic and lonely. Outside looks like a ski lodge but inside looks like a Motel 6. There are no personnel at the location other than at breakfast and they tell you that they do not speak English and point to a telephone. Our room, which was supposed to be superior, was minimalistic...

Our worse experience in Iceland, with a very bad value for money (our most expansive night in this country). Poor equipment, VERY poor breakfast, no service at all (no body stays there so you can't order even a beer...). Hot tub is not clean, rooms are really small and smell humidity. We still don't understand how they can offer so...

Large empty hotel. Surly breakfast & cleaning staff. None of whom speak or even attempt to speak English, other than "problem, telephone," i.e. you are to call some faraway place to ask, e.g., for a 3rd towel or jam with your toast. Room was fine, though unfortunately next to breakfast area, so noisy. Price here is absurd- pure tourist gouging....

Great location and setting. But overpriced for minimal quality and service. Our room smelled and had flies. Breakfast was worst we had in 7 days in Iceland. The walls are thin and we could easily hear conversations outside and in hallways at night. They need to invest in making this great location better.

We booked this through Hotels.com. We were given directions to the hotel and a code to open a key box to our room. It is a very attractive log building, in good repair, but somewhat hard to find. It has about a dozen rooms. We booked a twin room and that is exactly what we got, a room with two...

We stayed one night in mid-July 2016. The room was small but adequate and clean. The hotel is unserviced: no reception on the premises but a phone number to call, however we did not meet anybody who had succeeded in getting a response. The breakfast was downright terrible: a single woman frantically tried to cope with the number of guests...

Beautiful setting. Rooms were spacious, comfortable beds, shower was a bit tiny, and breakfast was average but did the job. No elevator so could be inconvenient if a lot of luggage and you get room on second floor.

Normally, I don't book hotels in this category, but we were on a tour and it was booked in advance for us. All of the poor comments mentioned in other reviews are true. We arrived to find no one there, but a sign with a telephone number to call. There is a staff member there who speaks no English (maybe...

When I arrived after a long day of traveling, I was heartened to see such a beautiful building at the foot of a mountain. However, when I arrived I was the only soul there - there were no staff or other guests. I walked into the huge, spacious, empty lodge and had to wander around before finding a sign that...
