After having been scammed in a Reykjavik guesthouse, a place that matches the advertisement Not luxurious, but anyway nice, friendly, clean... Spacious (for Iceland) room, with nice mattress and clean sheet, towels, a table and chair etc 2 toilets and showers shared for 3 rooms is acceptable Toilet clean and functional Friendly staff Quite decent buffet breakfast. The door to...

I have stayed at Hotel Edda Skogar time and again through the years and always left happy and refreshed. The food is good and service nice and the location is fabulous for hikes and enjoying nature. I will be back again every year as long as I live and I have nothing but fond memories from my visits, first with...

we stayed one night. pleasant place with large, clean rooms. not much of a view from our room (dry wall) and with limited privacy. we had to witness some rather heated discussion of our neighbours next door. The extensive dinner buffet was a high light with a great choice of delicious dishes both seafood and meat. also veggies had their...

The rooms are more like a hostel. Pretty small and with communal bathrooms. If you're staying in Southern Iceland though, the hotel doesn't matter much because you won't be there too often. Great location as it's a 10 minute walk from Skogafoss waterfall, 20-30 min drive to Vik, 2 hours from Skaftafell. They also offer a pretty good breakfast and...

Don't expect your in room bathroom or shower here. Appears to be a converted school or other institution. Rooms have poor ventilation and noisy hallways. No, zero soundproofing. We stayed in one of the auxiliary buildings. Don't know about the main building. Friendly staff.

Don't underestimate the importance of a good night sleep if you are doing long distance driving. Iceland is not a tiny island , and driving around the island is no Sunday picnic, and with stops, average you need to drive 7-8 hours per day. No easy tasks for someone only familiar with town driving, like me. Edda Skoger never claim...

This hotel was a welcome stop after long drive through South Coast, but it was somewhat underwhelming due to my own misplaced expectations. The room was small and smelled a bit like my old college dorm room. There was a sink and a bed. That's it. There is a bathroom down the hall and 2 shower rooms with locking doors,...

Really close to Skogafoss, this is a no frills kind of place with small (but clean) rooms and shared bathrooms. We showered around midnight, so showers were dry and clean and not busy. I liked having a sink in my bedroom. Cute sheep/lambs outside frolicking around.

The hotel locates right next to Skogafoss, which means it is possible for you to wake up early to take a walk to the waterfall when there are less people. There is also a small farm nearby and you can experience a horse riding tour taking private beautiful paths. So, the location is very good. However, facilities in this hotel...

Most hotels in Iceland have shared facilities, but 2 toilets and 2 showers for 14 twin rooms is just not sufficient. Our room was basic, but it was a reasonable size, the beds were comfortable and it had a wash-basin. (Tip - if you can't find the power-points look behind the curtains) Looked very much as it must have done...
