The San Paolo is well-located in the port area of Trani; very convenient to the attractions of this town. A former convent, the hotel is an interesting place to stay. Our room was well-appointed, immaculate and quiet. The dxesk staff was very helpful in recommending local restaurants and arranging transportation to the train station for us -- important since there... More

I left this fabulous view taken last night out of my hotel window.Even if you don't want to go out and explore too far this is a great place to relax in a hotel with a lot of character & history. I've always slept soundly here. The bedrooms are a decent size with a generous sized ensuite bathrooms and the... More

While travelling around the area we decided to have a stopover at Trani. We arrived late but were very warmly welcomed by Hotel San Paolo. We could not believe our luck. The hotel has a prime position over the marina and the bedrooms and bathrooms have been designed with quality in mind. The bedroom (and bed!) was huge in comparison... More

Great location next to the harbour. We had room 106 on the first floor and facing the park, but with a side view from the balcony over the harbour. It was the weekend and some in our group said rooms at the front did get some noise into the early morning, but we didn't. Room was vast, aprox 600 sq.... More

We arrived at this hotel at 1645, our room was not ready although we were given the key and took our bags up to the room. The 'manager said that they had just had 'important journalists staying and they did not move out in time!! We had to wait two full hours before our room was available, in compensation we... More

This hotel is in the perfect location and the buiding is beautiful but sadly it has missed it's potential to be a lovely hotel. It is disappointing in so many ways. On arrival the reception was manned by one member of staff who was too busy with paperwork to look up and acknowledge us, he then took a phone call... More

This hotel has a spectacular location, located on the marina and within walking distance to lots of shopping and restaurants but that is where it ends really. We checked in to our room to find the carpet hadn't been vacuumed, there were bits of detritus on the floor and what looked like a lump of dog hair, actually the whole room smelled like... More

The hotel is very well situated at the port. The rooms are very spacious and clean. Nice bathrooms with good shower articles. The concierge doesn't speak well English. The hotel used to be a convent and the atmosphere is still like in a convent, which is special, but also a bit spooky. The breakfast room used to be a chapel.

Stayed here with a pal on an Italian driving holiday. Very nicely restored convent makes a quiet and clean hotel with stunning views of the Adriatic - and it's right on Trani harbour and seafront, which is full of bars and restaurants. Very clean, spacious rooms and welcoming staff. The breakfast was good but could have been better. Recommended.

Good overall in parts and good location UNLESS you happen to have a room where the air-conditioning is less than good and your room faces out onto the harbour in which case at night - you'll need to have the windows open and if its at the weekend there will be a lot of noise from the vibrant harbour front...
