We stayed for 7 nights and will start by saying this is definitely not a 4 star hotel. The price for what is offered was definitely too much 200+ € / night for double room. That is why I will not recommend this place . Pros -great location Cons -breakfast selection was poor. The omelette was soggy and definitely reheated. -breakfast area needs refurbishing, making you feel a bit uncomfortable - we initially receive room 418, was shocked when I felt the smell of urine . Luckily the receptionist was able to give us another room,317. The room was small but clean, with again, old furniture. The outside terrace had a great view but the sitting area was having a small plastic table and 2 chairs that were broken -downstairs had no bar, no music, no atmosphere -pool had a weird rule to wear a cap so we did not use it The hotel is clearing selling the view but not putting any effort in maintaining the 4 star rating …
Review of Room 313. First the great things. 1. Location, Location, Location - it’s in a fantastic beachside setting. 2. Roof terrace to our room. 3. Welcome at reception. That’s where the great things end. Average stuff 1. The giving of wrist bands. Never known this on a B&B basis. 3. Told that beach towels cost money to use. Charged each time they are changed. All the hotels I have stayed in don’t charge. 4. Told upon arrival that you have to buy caps to wear in the swimming pool (even though plenty didn’t and were not stopped). 5. Room had no windows. Decent air conditioning. Decor a bit more shabby than chic. 6. Breakfast - it’s ok. Not rubbish, but should be better for a 4 star allegedly. More hot items and better savoury choice. Same scrambled eggs every day with either bacon or tomato. 7. Not many eating places nearby. A Snack beach place and 2 Pizzarias in just about walking distance. Poor stuff 1. Tried to get more shower gel from reception. Seemed this was a difficult ask. Had to ask a manager and then it was “Come back in 40 minutes” - really? None available there and then and no offer of delivering to the room. None given again the following morning. 2. Electric socket coming off wall - reported this. Never fixed during our visit. See photo. 3. Not enough electric sockets in this modern age. One each by the bed and being occupied by table lamps. These could be changed to double sockets easily. 4. Telephone in room didn’t work. 5. At the rear of our room was a roof terrace. There was constant water dripping down the steps and it was a real health and safety hazard, especially at night when light was low. Could be resolved with piping. See photo. 6. The bar only takes cash as payment. The place lost around 200 euros in lost business due to this. We would have been quite happy to drink more. Do they not realise that they are affecting their drinks sales by not allowing you to pay by card? In this day and age, this is a silly rule. 7. The bar was modestly stocked without a great choice. No draught beer. 8. In a sunbed area near the reception there are glass panels protecting the area from the cliff side. These were dirty. Should be cleaned daily. They had not been cleaned that day. 9. Needs a snack area. For light lunch or day time snacks. If it’s got one, we couldn’t see it. 10. Lack of sports and entertainment. 11. Breakfast table sitting. Not made clear where you sit if on breakfast tariff only. Got shown to a table by a member of that was someone else’s and they got upset when they arrived. So we moved and had to ask waitress to seat us again. Final day of staying what seemed like a manager was working at breakfast and it was better organised and he said hello to some tables. Where he was the previous days I don’t know. 5/5 Location 0/5 Service and Hospitality 1/5 Price 2/5 Quality This place is suffering a lack of identity and is definitely not 4 star. Expect 2 star and be happy. However it’s then expensive for what it is. Needs some TLC. Customers don’t seem to come first and this from my experience seems to stem from poorly focussed management and poor staff training. No hellos or acknowledgements from management when they passed by. Strange in the hospitality business. Trading on location only. Wouldn’t stay with these people again. The location of The hotel Has two sides of a coin. Beautiful area but without a car it would be a disaster. Even though most of the photos show you the rooms with huge roof terraces not many rooms actually have them. For example we were located in a room with only around 1 square meter of outside space and...one chair! Great for a couple, isn't it? The rooms themselves don't look nice. Very old and you can see used! Black spots in the bathroom are disgusting! Houskeeping does their best! Out of reception Staff there is only one girl who is doing her best to help. The reception manager is not attentive, does not want to speak with hotel guests and his answer for everything is 'immposible'. Bar staff is nice but if you want your bottle of wine to be opened it is not possible. And obviously there is no wine opener in the room. Restaurant has got ups and downs. Breakfasts are very poor! Only sweet stuff, omlette, bacon, cheese and ham. No fruits or vegetables whatsoever!!! Coffee machine with a powdered milk, juice from concentrate and water for drinks. Dinners are fine... amazing pizza! Usually few choices of hot stuff like fish, pork, beef, pasta etc. Some salads and cheeses. For dinner there is a veg selection! Bad thing is a choice of drinks for the evening meal. Water, beer or wine. Amazing is a thing that actually a wine is served in especially labeled, corked bottles which looks like having a proper wine. And it is a nice, local IGP vermentino and cannonau. Another good thing about a restaurant is a staff. Especially a supervisor and Alex. When you are there and are being served by them you feel like in a different place, not actual esse shardana. Amazing job guys! Overall 3 stars because we had amazing time here as of the hotel located in beautiful and peacful place.…
I dont understand the bad reviews about the food etc: food is fresh, cooked in front of you, staff is super helpful, amazing location and view... Lots of walks and half board is worthwhile, car is a must to explore around. Those must be fake from competition. Enjoy!
The only thing this hotel could offer was a beautiful location. Very disappointed with the hotel, very dated accommodation, bedroom was very cramped, poor facilities. Food was poor, limited choice at breakfast. Poor stocked bar. No entertainment. Nearest shop was in Saint Therese town, taxi €15 euro each way. Advise to hire a car. Let down for a lng awaited holiday 😢
