This is basically a standard 1980s Marriott that hasn’t been updated since then. While the staff are quite pleasant and the location is excellent, the hotel isn’t quite up to modern standards. The lounge, while providing a decent spread and staffed by very attendant workers,...More

The Marriott is between.5th and 6th streets. The national is at 7th Street. The walk is very short. But Richmond is not known for being a safe place. I would be very cautious walking anywhere in Downtown Richmomd after dark. If you are attending an event and It is letting out so there is a crowd then it is probably ok but don't dawdle. Walk with purpose to get back to the hotel.
