The local traditional characteristics reflected in the design of this small, but prestigious hotel, located at the waters edge overlooking the old fishing harbour and flanked to one side by an ancient chapel, only complement this quaint and idyllic setting. Yet just a minute walk away are a number of shops, restaurants, bars and other tourist activities all along the promenade. An early riser can watch the colourful fishing boats unload their catch from the comfort of one’s room. The hotel has breathtaking views of St. Paul’s Islands where St. Paul was shipwrecked. All rooms have a bathroom en suite, balcony, air-conditioning, direct dialing facilities, satellite Television, mini bar, hair dryer and room safety deposits. The Gillieru Harbour Hotel has ample public areas to guarantee the excellent and personalized service synonymous with the Cremona family which has run it’s catering services for over four generations. Early booking is recommended.

Nestled in a picturesque location, the Gillieru Harbour Hotel boasts stunning views of St. Paul's Bay and the harbour that many guests adore. The service receives commendation for its friendliness and helpfulness, although it's not without its critics who cite inconsistency. While the rooms are praised for their cleanliness and vistas, the outdated decor and some maintenance issues have not gone unnoticed.
The hotel's cleanliness overall is a highlight, with several travelers appreciating the well-kept environment. Despite mixed reviews on the food quality at breakfast, the value of the hotel is recognized by some, especially for its locale and staff. However, guests suggest the need for updates to enhance the atmosphere and overall experience.

Spotless clean hotel, fantastic location. Poor choice at breakfast no fresh fruit juice it tasted like cordial, only 2 choices of fresh fruit each day and not enough variety in general although the fried eggs are cooked to perfection!

On arriving at the hotel we were given a warm welcome by the receptionist. Our room wasn’t quite ready but there is a lovely cafe area where we got something to eat . The room we were originally given was extremely small (515) . We asked to be moved to a larger sea view room which we had booked, we had to wait a day but then was quickly moved to a larger sea view room without any problems. Rooms were nice and cleaned daily. Pool area nice and clean with lots of availability on sun loungers. Breakfast was good and was perfectly acceptable. Overall was made to feel very welcome and enjoyed our holiday.

The hotel rates four stars based on its beautiful location and its extremely helpful staff .We stayed in a room overlooking the street and if one is available a sea view room would be well worth having as it’s quite a noisy spot so we didn’t use the small balcony at all .The basic rooms are somewhat dated but everywhere is spotlessly clean and the beds are very comfortable .Tea and coffee making facilities are available in the room as is drinking water from the machine on each floor , a nice touch .Water pressure is poor as mentioned in other reviews and we had problems flushing the toilet . The TV has a large screen and free wifi was fast . Breakfast offers plenty of cold buffet food which would benefit from being covered to ward off the flies. We did not eat it at all…

The Gillieru Harbour Hotel is a real favourite of mine as far as hotel accommodation goes. Its relatively small size and its location, with unobstructed views of the St Paul's Islands, have always assured a pleasant and totally satisfying experience. There's nothing like good old-fashioned Maltese hospitality and this is what you're treated with upon arrival, particularly from Maryrose who exudes warmth and charm the minute you step into the foyer. This year, more than other years, I came to realise just what a gem the Gillieru Harbour Hotel is. The quiet and comfortable room I stayed in, with a balcony overlooking the sea, and with all the facilities that are available, I felt completely restored in mind and body.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Room was very clean, light and airy with views across St Paul’s Bay. Access to the sea for swimming was right beside the hotel as were cafes and restaurants. I highly recommend this hotel.

This lovely hotel is in a beautiful position on St Paul’s harbour. It has a lovely family atmosphere, fantastic staff and a great restaurant. Downstairs is smart and welcoming but some of the bedrooms need updating. Our beds were very comfortable, the rooms were spotlessly clean but the pillows and towels should have been replaced. This is a great hotel and with a bit more investment would be brilliant. All the staff were amazing, especially Adriana, with great local knowledge and advice. We had a lovely holiday here and will return soon I hope.

The hotel was in a lovely location right by the harbour and the staff were pleasant and overall was clean and tidy. What no one had said was that the restaurant was no longer part of the hotel. I would advise to go bed and breakfast. The evening meal has one menu for the guests staying at the hotel it never changes it's the same night after night. Dont get me wrong the meals are well cooked but it's a fast food menu. If you like burgers and chips salads and pizzas on offer every night this menu is for you Then there is dessert they have a cafe that sells cakes during the day and the left over cakes are offered for your dessert. You go down for dinner on the evening and you are asked your room number which means you are not allowed to sit in the restaurant which is advertised you…

My wife and I were recommended this Hotel by our travel agents the room we were showed by Mercury Holidays was nothing like our room in the Hotel which was tiny with a balcony you could only fit two tiny chair's on and the bins were emptied at 5 every morning and the Hotel itself is getting run down paint , plaster all sorts of thing's wrong, other people who stayed at the same time had the same complaints no hot water Toilets not flushing , breakfast is very sparse because the Hotel restaurant has been taken over by another company which charges a lot to eat at night , one thing about Malta if you are unsteady on your feet the pavements are awful
