this hotel but in a nutshell.....dreadful breakfast but the loveliest view ever! had to eat out all the time . the hotel needs livening up bit of personality warmth and a good breakfast., not great cleaning , stale smelling room and distinct lack of anyone really giving a damn! could be a little gem if in the right hands. met...

very disapointed with the standard of the hotel the whole hotel looks as if it hasn't been refurbished in 30 years bathrooms where clean but held together with mastic sealant and the fixed shower head was at 4 foot so most impractical when we pointed out that the fridge didn't work we were told it just insuated cold items, but...

We were a little apprehensive after reading reviews but the hotel was fine. It was clean and roomy enough. The beds were really good and the housekeeping was excellent. On the whole, the front of house staff were pleasant and relatively informative although the mood of one lady seemed to change from very cheerful and friendly and helpful to dour...

Very quite relaxing week at this Hotel, really wonderful setting at St Pauls Bay harbour. Plenty to watch from the well placed balcony, room basic but alright would have been nice to have kettle to make tea and coffee. Towels changed daily along with room cleaned to normal standard, could do with a little up dating. Staff very friendly and...

Commanding the best view on the island of Malta, the owners need to consider what else is fundamentally important to guests. Having stayed here many times, it is disappointing to note that it looks very tired and needs new life injected to revitalise to what once it was! Rooms are not up to 4* standard and although the restaurant staff...

Malta is small. Malta is very small and as a result sprawling hotels in vast grounds are not an option, at least in the area of St Paul's bay where I stayed. Around seventy rooms of a basic shape and size with a hair dryer and small CRT Tv the only 'luxuries' available.BUT it was clean and kept so. Towels...

We stayed at Gilleru for one week on a bed and breakfast basis. We checked in and were given our room immediately. They were friendly enough in reception and there was free wifi, which worked all but on the morning we left when there was a problem. Reception was air conditioned and had seats all around it. Our room was...

I didn't book to stay at the Gillieru, but was given the option, as my original hotel had been double booked. Good points were, they provide a continental buffet breakfast (You pay extra for a full English etc) but there were enough choices to set me up for the day. Bus stop is around the corner. The location of the...

One thing the Gillieru always had was reasonable food. However, food is now being outsourced to a local company. Like many people we changed to bed and breakfast after the first meal. It's not that the food is inedible, it's a bit like eating value food from your local supermarket that has then been reheated. The hotel is due to...
