Detailed Reviews
We stayed here for 7 nights in August, hotel was fully booked but didn’t seem too overcrowded. Breakfast is included in the price and is served 0700-1000, sometimes a small queue as Covid restrictions still require a small degree of social distancing and the buffet is placed on you plate by a member of the helpful staff, top tip number 1 go about 0945 and no queuing. All staff are helpful, rooms are modern, shower is excellent and the Skydeck on floor 10 has an amazing infinity pool, playing chill out Cafe Del Mar classics from morning till night, drinks are available from the pop up bar from 1200-1900, reasonably priced or you can choose to take your own.
Top tip number 2, get yourself to the rooftop for an amazing Sunset.
Some building work in this part of Qawra but not overly noisy. I would stay here again and highly recommend this hotel for the budget and amenities provided.

Just returned after a weeks stay in The Mayflower hotel in Bugibba so thought i would post a review on here. The hotel is very stylishly decorated throughout, we had a sea view room on the 7th floor which we had to pay a little extra for but it was worth it, the beds were lovely and comfortable although the wooden bases did creak a bit when you turned over. I emailed the hotel 4 weeks prior to arriving asking for extra pillows and they were in the room upon arrival, we also asked for a iron when we arrived and this was delivered along with a ironing board within half a hour and was free with no deposit to pay. The breakfast was what you would normally expect with breads and rolls, English styled breakfast, cereals, salad meats and cheeses, pastries, yogurt and fresh fruit salad. The sky deck is lovely with 2 shaded areas for people to use which did get rather congested, a beautiful infinity pool and nice sun loungers not the cheap white plastic things you get in many hotels. The staff were helpful and pleasant. Just a note of caution if you book this hotel be aware that the coach does not stop outside to drop you off or pick you up, the drop off/pick up point is at the Santana around the corner so if you have mobility issues then i would suggest you book a mini bus or taxi from/to the airport rather than the cheaper option of the coach. I struggled dragging a heavy case on those pavements as i had a walking stick too but when we returned yesterday i asked at reception if i could have assistance to help me get my luggage round to the Santana for our pick up and the staff were very obliging and organised a staff member to drive me and another lady with the same problem round there in his car. The only negative i found with the hotel was the choice of music played daily at the pool bar but that is just personal choice but many of the younger residents may have liked it ????. I would recommend this hotel and although there is a lot of building work going on in the area there was little or no noise from it as most of the construction work has been completed

We stayed here for 4 nights from 6th July. On arrival we were impressed with the decor and ambiance of this hotel.
Our room was spacious and had a mini fridge, kettle and tea and coffee making facilities. The bathroom was spacious with shampoo, shower gel and soap provided in small individual containers. Towels were clean and fresh and the room was serviced each day of our stay.
The infinity pool on the sun deck was lovely. The only problem with the sun deck is there is no bar available to purchase drinks and light snacks. This meant having to use the hotel bar on the ground floor which was a little inconvenient at times. A missed opportunity here for the hotel I believe.
Unfortunately the balcony to our room had no sun all day and this was a little disappointing.
The breakfast service was disorganised and chaotic. This was a concern for us as no social distancing adhered to. This issue was resolved on the last day of our stay at the hotel as the hotel management split the breakfast into two sittings. The only problem that remained after this was the lack of clean tables, possibly due to staffing issues.
Location is quite central for restaurants, bars etc and the sea front is less than a 5 minute walk.

We stayed here between 9th July and 23rd July, first impressions the Hotel was very nice, spotless and the staff was very friendly. We paid extra for a sea view room and to our astonishment the only sea we could view was between the buildings and other apartments opposite. The view was of buildings waste land and 3 big cranes for the building work going on, which started at 6.30am every morning except Sunday!! This was very disappointing!! Now to the breakfast routine which was a shambles, breakfast was between 7.00am and 10.30 and because of covid you get allocated a time slot when you are expected to go for breakfast, ours was between 9 and 9.30am, however the queues some mornings was horrendous, we didn't bother going for breakfast the second week it was too much of a pharce and we went out for breakfast. The infinity pool was lovely, however on TUI website they state the pool has its own bar this is not the case, you have to go down 10 floors in the lift, which broke down 3 times whilst we were there to get a drink from the bar, when it was open, some days it didn't open!! On the 3rd night we were there I noticed my Olaplex shampoo had gone missing, so I reported it to reception who took details and when we got back at night there was a letter in our room, stating that the maid had been with them for many years and was very trust worthy ( I don't know how she could have been there many years when Tui state on their website that the Hotel had only opened its doors and was new for 2021) nothing was done about the shampoo!! Would I stay at this Hotel again NO I wouldn't.

thank you for posting your review. First of all I would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused. I would like to clarify a few things for the sake of people reading this review. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, we decided to have two sitting for our guests to try and reduce the waiting time. Unfortunately this was not always the case and since service was buffet assisted, sometimes we ended up with people waiting. Our staff did their utmost to cause the least inconvenience to our guests. With regards to Olaplex shampoo gone missing, a letter was sent to your room, asking you to contact reception to discuss issue further. I personally spoke to maid (who has been with the company and worked in our other hotel, Sunflower hotel) for a number of years, who assured me that she did not touch the shampoo, and that as a matter of fact there were 2 Olaplex shampoo in bathroom. Should you wish to discuss further please feel free to contact me on malcolm.buhagiar@mayflowerhotel.com.mt thank you

Stayed here as a friend recommend this hotel for a local getaway. Staff at the reception are very friendly and some of them speak Maltese which makes you feel at home. The hotel is modern with new clean rooms and sanitized daily. The elevators are busy and even used by the hotel staff which sometimes it makes you swear due to covid rules since you cannot mix with other people in the elevator. The rooftop pool has a beautiful view stretching to Gozo!. The bar at the pool opens around mid-day and rules are minimum by the pool. You can place the towel at 6am on a deck chair and come back at 10am like other guests do. The breakfast has the minimum needs such as coffee, tea, juices and a basic English breakfast. You can get the same breakfast for €5 bugibba square. The breakfast area is busy so it's better to plan ahead to find a place. The beds are comfy and the pillows are decent but when you order a double bed they will join 2 single beds together which is not what I requested. Anyways, I will return to this hotel definitely and I hope the management will continue to improve on this beautiful hotel!

Lovely and clean pool area with plenty of sun beds (in October). Pool could maybe benefit from being heated and it windy and chilly at times with it being so high up, but put this down to the time of year. Lovely views of the sea.
The staff were great, super friendly and helpful. Nothing was ever too much trouble and everyone was polite and always said hello. I dropped a full aperol spritz and everyone was so quick to help clear up and they even gave me a new one on the house.
Lovely room, spotless and spacious. Upgraded to a seaview room but we could only see a corner of the sea. Pillows were a bit too high, would be good to have a couple of smaller ones but cannot fault the room otherwise. Loved the rain shower. Hotel was very quiet too, never heard anything from other guests in their rooms.
No complaints at all on the breakfast, exactly what I would expect from a 3 star hotel. Never any issues finding a seat and food replenished frequently.
Would just like to flag an issue with the taxi service that the hotel used. 10 min late to pick us up to take us to the airport, private taxi but asked if it’s ok if we collect two other people who weren’t ready to be collected, so disappeared for another 10 mins looking for them. Not good when you are paying for a private service, plus the driver then charged both couples 28 euros each which was a bit of a con, even when we tried to split it. The journey should have been 28 euros altogether so I think the hotel should be made aware that the service they use (Bluebird) are doing this.

+1
Well I have to say this Hotel was spotless the staff who were mainly Maltese were very professional courteous and couldn't do enough for you. Rooms were cleaned daily sufficiently we had a king-size bed with the biggest memory foam mattress I've seen. Extra pillows of any shape or size were available tv had all local channels, as well as YouTube, Netflix Prime and 1 other that seemed to be Arabic. (if going to bed and want to watch a movie to take mind of your newly burnt skin channel mbm 222 or mbm max 224 are non stop films all High rated and in englsh). There infinity pool on the skydeck was gorgeous tho I personally could not go to edge as was 10 levels up. Which is also one of the biggest height wise in area so beautiful Mediterranean views with both sunset and sunrise were breathtaking. Plenty of sunbeds tho it is a busy hotel and they can fill very quick. My only negatives was I didn't like there cooked breakfast or there latte tea coffee machine in breakfast room. Husband did seem to find it okay as he ate enough for us both lol. As it is a busy hotel you need to realise not every couple are going to be sensible unfort we had a negative experience below us with serious domestic abuse which was horrid. It was sorted out quickly and never heard another beep from there so I think they left.
You can also hire electric scooters directly outside at door and there is always a rep at reception who can book any excursions you wish or if you need any inspiration.
Overall I would definitely recommend this new stunning hotel. It will take some doing to find much better. I personally think it out does the Dolman but that's a hottly debated subject.

We stayed at the Mayflower for a week and was thoroughly impressed with the hotel as a whole.
The hotel is situated a 5 minute walk away from the seafront which is packed with bars, restaurants and cafe’s to choose from. You will not be short of things to do or places to eat and drink!
The room was spotless and clean when we arrived which is always a good start. The bed was comfortable and the room itself was modern and spacious for two people. The bathroom was also spotless and the shower was of good water pressure.
The star of the Mayflower hotel has to be the Sky Deck and infinity pool located on the roof. It is a proper sun trap and we spent time up there every day. The pool is lovely and spacious and there is plenty of sun loungers to choose from; both in the sun and in the shaded areas. The lads running the bar on the roof terrace were always lovely and chatty and there was always a selection of beers, cocktails and soft drinks to choose from.
Before visiting we read a lot of comments about the breakfast service being slow. We on the other hand never had to wait more than 10 minutes to get our breakfast which I think is perfectly reasonable; considering the circumstances with Covid restrictions. It was a bit chaotic sometimes when staff left the serving area to refill the food items but other than that breakfast was always easy and painless. The food was always fresh and tasty, the coffee was really nice, and you can have as much as you like!
The staff at reception were always extremely helpful, polite and on hand to deal with any requests that you may have.
All in all I would definitely recommend the Mayflower to anyone wanting to stay in the St Paul’s Bay Area. The room was clean, service was fantastic, breakfast was tasty and the rooftop pool is an absolute gem.

We stayed at this hotel for a week in October.
While reading the reviews on this hotel I was worried as a lot of people have complained, but when we arrived it was nothing but a fantastic stay.
Many people complained about the breakfast and how there wasn't many varieties, but I thought the breakfast was great. Each day the hot food changed, and there was lots of fruits, pastries and cereals to choose from. If people wanted more variety, they could easily go out to eat. I'm not sure what they eat in their own homes for them to complain about the breakfast but there was more than enough to choose from.
The location was great, it was a five minute (if even) walk to the strip and close to bugibba square too. Most days me and my partner travelled around the whole island which was great as the bus station was right beside it. We chose to bolt some places which is like an uber and was very reasonable in price.
The views from the rooftop pool and bar were beautiful, and we spent many evenings watching the sunset from there. They also do happy hour from 5-7, where you can get 2 cocktails for the price of 1. I will say the pool was very cold, but you just have to jump in to get over the initial shock which doesn't last long. There were many lounge chairs, so you were never stook looking for one. You could also order food and drink up to the pool from the bar downstairs.
They also have a gym, there isn't much in it if you are an avid gym user, but you can manage to make do like my boyfriend did.
The bedroom was a good size, with a double bed, desk, wardrobe and bathroom. It also had a mini fridge, kettle, cups, coffee and tea. The room also has a safe in which you could use your own code to store valuables. The room was cleaned every day and old towels were replaced.
The only downfall to this hotel was that the elevators were slow, but not enough to complain too much as they were just always in use.
Overall, we would highly recommend this hotel and we will definitely be back in the future.

Lovely hotel, just been for 2 weeks b & b. The rooms were lovely and clean and although I kept our room clean and tidy you could tell that housekeeping had been in your room . Bedding smelt really nice as well .
Shampoo and shower gel replaced ever day as well yea coffee sugar etc. but if you like 3/4 brews per day you to take your own which we did anyway . They only 2 sachets of decade and original Nescafé per day and to be honest we used our own mostly .
Added bonus is you don’t need a towel for the pool they provide these daily which is a great service.
Breakfast was very impressive really from little pasties, loads of variety of coffees, juices water . Cold meats and cheeses loads of fruit even dried fruit to add to cereal , English breakfast and loads of different breads jams .
Library on the first flour is lovely you can sit in comfort and choose some books . Reception especially James was exceptional we had a broken suitcase that we needed to bin , it was no problem he message housekeeping and that day it was gone . We also had a problem with Netflix my husband being a idiot really but told reception and 5 mins later maintenance where there. It rally is a very organised and professional hotel the staff a great credit could fault anyone .

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We're delighted to hear that you had a wonderful two-week stay with us. It's great to know that you found the rooms lovely and clean. The fresh bedding and the daily replacement of amenities like shampoo, shower gel, and coffee were certainly appreciated, even though you preferred your own coffee. We aim to provide the best possible service for our guests. We're thrilled that you enjoyed the added bonus of daily pool towels, making your time by the pool hassle-free. Our breakfast spread is designed to cater to various preferences, and it's fantastic to hear that you found it very impressive with a wide variety of options, from pastries to a selection of coffees, juices, cold meats, cheeses, fruits, and more. The library on the first floor is indeed a cozy spot to relax and select some reading material. We're particularly pleased to hear that James at the reception went above and beyond to assist you with your broken suitcase and the Netflix issue. Our team takes pride in providing excellent service, and your kind words are a testament to their professionalism and efficiency. Thank you for your positive review, and we hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back in the future. Your feedback is greatly appreciated, and we are here to ensure you have another exceptional stay with us.

"The is no parking available at this hotel. Also, breakfast is very busy after 8:00 a.m so heading down earlier is a good call."Read full review
