Detailed Reviews
Spent two nights here. It’s beautiful from the outside and has a lovely flower garden in the front of the property. When we walked in the door though it smelled “old” and musty. I think, after having time to look around and see the rest of the property that it was the carpet on the stairs. It was stained and worn and really needs to be replaced. (Especially since this is the first thing you see when you walk in the door.) Our room left a much better impression when we walked in. It was HUGE. We could have hosted a dance there. There were a lot of windows so plenty of natural light. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was roomy with a single sink. The tub/shower was one of those one piece fiberglass things. It was fine except that it wasn’t installed properly so when you stand in it, the bottom creaks from the fiberglass being flexed from the weight. It doesn’t affect the functionality but it is loud and somewhat disconcerting. There were a couple of light bulbs out in the chandelier (yes, chandelier) and on the bathroom. I think this is unacceptable since it’s so easy to check and remedy when the room is cleaned. Cell service in the area (both Verizon and AT&T) is nonexistent but they do have acceptable WiFi. However, it’s not secured. Completely open which could pose a big security risk. Highly discouraged in this day and age. Note too that this is an inn and not a B&B so there is no breakfast served. But the South Woodstock Country Store is next door where breakfast (limited selection) is available for purchase. I’m pretty ambivalent about the whole experience. Nothing terrible or that would make me discourage someone from staying there but nothing stood out as being exceptional either.

+1
The hotel has been renovated and looks lovely. The snow came and the room was warm and cosy. We spent time with family so we did not eat there, but we have eaten before. Our only issue was the lack of breakfast but they have an arrangement with the general store so we went there .
The front desk were knowledgeable and helpful . Other places in VT suffered from the industry-wide lack of staff.

The Inn was better than we anticipated. The room was very nice and the bed extremely comfortable. Wi-Fi was very fast. The Inn it’s a 10 minute drive to Woodstock. Restaurant walkable from your room. Breakfast at General store also walkable and very good.

I've known about this inn for 15 years when I lived in the area and was excited to actually stay there. The property is drop-dead gorgeous--old buildings well maintained, and perennial gardens to envy. The town of South Woodstock is lovely. Our room was large, with an excellent bed.
We were on the second floor up a very narrow stair that was hard to manage alone, let alone with luggage. there was no staff around to help. in our room two of the 5 lights were not plugged in and to do so required moving heavy furniture. there did not appear to be any of the things like ice machines or beverage machines on site. At this price point I would have expected at least a continental breakfast or at least coffee and tea, but we had to go next door to a cafe and pay $20 for breakfast.
When we arrived we received in our room a note about new covid procedures and the plan to have no staff available to avoid exposures. Had I known this before I would not have booked at this hotel. What a mistake!
And the window behind the bed was filthy!

We (2 adults, 2 children) stayed for two nights and wish it had been longer!
We were in the back cabins which are family-perfect, adults in a downstairs room and kids tucked away upstairs next to a small lounge and kitchen. Much better space than a two-queen standard and very clean.
Ate at the restaurant the first night, super friendly and top quality service. Food was amazing - best pizza outside NYC for sure.
Kedron Valley is a great base for the Quechee Gorge (20 min) and Woodstock itself (8 min) where we are the second night.
Would definitely return.

An awful night! We went to the grocery and bought Lysol spray but it didn’t help with the overpowering odor and neither my wife nor I could sleep because of allergies induced by this musty dirty room. The arrogance of this place, charging these fees, surely aware of this musty mildew smell, and not even having a simple air purifying unit in the room? Do not be fooled by the photos of this inn’s beautiful historic exterior! Because we were in Woodstock during peak season, we could not locate another room in town—-we would have forfeited this Inn’s exorbitant fee if we could have found another place to stay. Shame on this place! We have traveled widely and occasionally have stayed places over the years that have not met our expectations, but this joint takes the prize. And there’s no one even here running the place, to our knowledge. You check yourself in. No coffee, tea. Dirty, uncomfortable, with pathogenic air quality—what more can I say?

We attend the GMHA horse show very close to the Inn and this is our first choice of lodgings. Rooms are clean and well maintained. We had a package shipped to the Inn for the competition and the front desk made sure it was safe and delivered it to us at dinner. We enjoyed the food in the restaurant several times for both dine in and take out. The dates of shows book out well in advance so book with confidence and enjoy a great place.

My boyfriend and I planned a getaway after being confined to our home for about a year’s time. We had planned to snowshoe while in VT and tour the quaint town of Woodstock. It turns out the Kedron Valley Inn and its owners were our favorite part of the trip. I called the night before we were due to arrive and they squeezed us into the restaurant. The whole experience was a true delight. Service was fantastic. The cocktails were unbelieveable and the food was a nice departure from what we’d been making at home all year. We finally felt alive and out and about again.
In the morning, we walked over to the adjacent General Store only to find the cutest gifts and yummy food to sustain us during our snowshoeing adventure.
On our second next we went back to the restaurant and had another amazing meal amongst people that felt like family. We will certainly be making this an annual trip!
Thanks KVI ! What a gem !

We spent our annual mother/daughter winter vacation in Kedron Valley Inn this year. First week of December stay was planned a year ahead. And everything was just amazing! Great service from Joey, Max and all employees in Ransom Tavern. Room 26 was awesome! We love the Country Store next door for breakfast and shopping locally. Skiing was great! The weather and surrounding were like we spend a week in fairytale! Food and cocktailes in Tavern were fantastic. Compare to our home in Key West the lovely town of Woodstock was not crowded and offered everything you want - great dinning, massages, exclusive shopping and food from local sources. And did I mention that everything was just amazing??? If you want relax and unwind this Inn is place to be.

Felt the actual hotel is not consistent with what is advertised online. Overall an unpleasant stay for multiple reasons. They’ve clearly put $ into the throw pillows and our bathroom was new/updated but the nuts and bolts of this place are beyond poor. Cherry on top is the inhospitable staff.

there are cottages in the back of the property that allows pets. i stayed in the rooms up front. you might want to check reviews on the cottages. the main building has great breakfast and woodstock about 20 miles away has a lot to offer.
Doubtful but gotta ask
We are about 5 miles from downtown Woodstock .
The views from the Tavern vary by room, and are very nice. As a whole the property has a tranquil and peaceful setting.
